3 Ways To Wear 3 Fall Wardrobe Staples

After purging my closet this summer, I’ve decided that I will not be buying any new pieces unless I have at least three different ways of wearing them. It seems like every season I end up buying a handful of trendier pieces, only to find myself scratching my head a year later when it’s time to wear them again. If you’re trying to cut down on the clutter and invest in some classic pieces, here are my three wardrobe must-haves for the fall and three different ways to style them.

1. Ankle boots

Ankle boots are incredibly versatile for fall, and you can wear them year after year. Go with a black boot with a low heel, so that they can easily be dressed up or down and paired with denim, a dress or even some separates.

1. Cullen Sweater, Need Supply | 2. Shimmered Tassel Clutch, Anthropologie | 3. Astrological Cuff, Catbird | 4. Tiny Dancer Moon & Star Studs, Catbird | 5. Charley Boot, Madewell

Ankle boots are amazingly versatile for every look: jeans, separates and dresses. This delicate look would be perfect for a chillier fall date night—add a few delicate, celestial-inspired accessories and a metallic clutch to break up the neutral colors.

My 20-Something Bucket List

via magic4walls

I’ve been feeling really adventurous lately. Maybe it’s the fact that summer is coming to an end, or that I’m feeling extra ambitious with the arrival of my senior year. Or that I’m turning 23 in a couple of months. Regardless of the reason, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into the rest of my life and how I plan on living it lately. There are just so many things I want to do, and so much that I expect to happen. To be honest, my greatest fear is to wake up one day and regret all the things that I haven’t done. So in an attempt to live in the moment and focus on right now, I decided to make a  mini bucket list, made up of what I want out of life before I turn 30. It’s my 20-Something Bucket List.

1. Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Arts. Sticking with college hasn’t always been easy, from the price it costs me every month to make a small dent in my loans to transferring schools… twice! But I made it to my senior year, and I’ll be damned if I don’t graduate — with a 4.0!

The 4 Essential Styling Tips With Short Hair

via Clean & Cool

I recently chopped all of my hair off into a cute pixie cut… and I am absolutely obsessed! One challenge that I’ve faced, though, is how to adjust my style appropriately. I generally love baggy clothes — boy jeans are my denim of choice, topped with an oversized tank top, long layered necklaces and maybe a big cardigan for when it gets chilly. However, with short hair, I’ve had to make an active effort to retain my femininity in my everyday style choices.

1. P L A Y  W I T H  P R O P O R T I O N S

This hasn’t been an easy one for me to deal with (again, I’m really into the baggy-on-baggy look)… but I’ve realized that I need to choose a more structured or fitted piece in every outfit. This helps you to show off your curves and complement your haircut, rather than contradict the feminine touch that you were going for. Check out some of my photo inspiration…

8 Washi Tape Ideas That Will Add Color To Your Home

Washi tape, a sturdy Japanese masking tape, has been popping up everywhere recently.  Colorful and easy to peel off, this comes as no surprise.  Here are eight ways to use washi tape to brighten up your home!

1. Buntings

With school fast approaching, I’ve been on the lookout for wall decor for my dorm.  This craft is super easy – take a wide rectangular piece of card stock and lay string across the top.  Then fold the washi tape over both sides and cut the paper into triangles.  The buntings work great as cake toppers too.  Just add skewers and you’re ready to celebrate!
