5 Items To Feign Summertime In January

In my humble opinion, summer can't come quickly enough. However, for most regions of the world, the weather and temperature outside reflects the current calendar month. As we patiently await the oncoming, deliciously warm days ahead, there's no harm in sporting small reminders of it -- while keeping warm. Below are five ideas!
I hail from Florida where the seasons generally split in two: Quite warm and semi-warm. Each morning, I find my Facebook newfeed flooded with statuses about studying on the beach, shopping for new sandals and general praise for my home state. So perhaps I compiled this list as a way to deal with slight homesickness. Regardless, I hope one or two of these tiny, summery measures help keep you keen for the incoming spring season without freezing your tush in the meantime.
Nail Lacquer, Tropical Fiesta 44, $3.49 from drugstore.com
A lovely, femme and bright shade like this one can brighten up your vibe. Think of it as a reminder of the upcoming warm sunsets you'll catch in just a few months.
The Tropical Necklace, from Etsy
The fusion of summer vibrancy and unassuming brass lace nicely balances the warm weather in your heart but the frosty breeze of your reality.
Vintage KEDS with palm trees, from Etsy
These serve as a little reminder that this brumal weather won't be forever. However, this pair might only work on snow-free days or as your non-transit shoes.
Colorful Vintage Wayfarers, from Etsy
It might be far too freezing out to realistically make a trip to the beach, there's no reason you can't pretend. Huff a little coconut oil, don these babies and imagine you're en route to a sweaty, ice-cream-filled day at Coney Island and not off to the blustery heart of Midtown, Manhattan. Just make sure you get off at the right train stop.
Custom Airbrushed Sweatshirt with Name in Bubble Letters with Beach Scene, from Amazon
Be honest. You always wanted one and spring break is still eons away. You earned it!
How do you stay upbeat in the cool weather? Or do you prefer colder temperatures to warmer ones?

Love the nail polish color!
I think an airbrushed shirt to lounge around in on snow days would be great, but only if mine still said "BRAD" on it.
I love bright nail polishes to liven up a gloomy day! But most of the time, especially when it's cold out, I like to snuggle up with the hubby and watch movies. However, this year I plan on working in the yard, plant some strawberries and zucchini (among other things). Strawberries and zucchini always make me think of warmer weather.
I like the nail polish! :)
I always use bright nail polish colors in the winter to remind me of summer, like the post suggested. Other times I might grab lunch at a restaurant like Bahama Breeze and get some kind of tropical cocktail. Also, summer scented candles and air fresheners, like Yankee Candle Sun and Sand, are awesome. I use them all year round. :)
@EJC102486@xanga - Great ideas!
I know Lovelyish has done an article on cheap travel options, but is there a way you can do one on like how to begin planning a spring break trip? I'm in college and in charge of planning this year so it's a bit overwhelming!
I also have a summer playlist. In the summer, that's all I play in the summer. That way, if/when I hear it during the other seasons, I think of summer.
is it just me, or does it look like that girl is going to jump in to pretty shallow water?
Ah I love that necklace! :)
