6 Teen Movies From the 90s That I'll Never Get Sick Of
When I'm stuck in the house and have nothing better to do, I always turn to teen movies. Usually I stick with the classic John Hughes movies, but sometimes I can't help but be all about the 90s. These are just six of my favorite movies from that decade.
Clueless: I'll admit it now, I wanted to be Cher Horowitz so bad. I mean what girl doesn't want that lifestyle? Okay, well I can think of girls who wouldn't, but I definitely wouldn't mind having a closet that big full of all my favorite clothes, shoes, and accessories.
Clueless, $19.99 from Amazon
Empire Records: I think the main reason I enjoy this movie so much is that I have the biggest crush on young Ethan Embry. Okay that isn't the only reason, I actually enjoy the story told. That, and the cast is actually really great.
Empire Records, $19.98 from Amazon
Bring It On: I don't think I even knew what cheer-leading was before this movie. Though after seeing it, I wanted nothing more than to be a cheer-leader, which sadly was a short lived dream seeing as I had zero ability.
Bring It On (Widescreen Collector's Edition), $14.98 from Amazon
Can't Hardly Wait: Another movie with Ethan Embry *sigh*. I didn't get to have the cliched high school party scene, the parties I went to were never like that. I guess I'm just a sucker for the 'boy loves girl, girl doesn't know boy exists' cliche.
Can't Hardly Wait, $14.99 from Amazon
10 Things I Hate About You: This is probably one of the movies I've seen the most. The combination of young Heath Ledger and young Joseph Gordon-Levitt was enough to hook me, but they weren't the only thing keeping my attention. I felt like I could really relate to Kat Stratford, and that scene when she's reading her sonnet? Yeah, I cried.
10 Things I Hate About You, $14.99 from Amazon
Jawbreaker: There's just something about this movie that I really like. Maybe, it's the cattiness of the lead characters or the angst of high school, but all I know is that it's definitely one of my go to movies.
Jawbreaker, $9.95 from Amazon
These are just a few of my favorites, there are definitely a lot more. Do any of these movies make your list? If not, what are some of your favorite movies?

I've never seen any of these.
@plursheep@xanga - Ah for some reason I always thought it came out in 1999! Thanks for letting me know.
Loved Jawbreaker. Never Been Kissed, because it put a really cute spin on the high school cliches. Plus, who doesn't love LeeLee Sobieski? Or how about the Craft? Did you know that Lisbon from the Mentalist was Sarah? I'm also partial to Scream because I'm insanely in love with Jamie Kennedy. And you can't forget about the Faculty. There were aliens!!!!! Aliens that took over the bodies of all the teachers!!!!!!! How epic is that?!
...Thanks. Now I feel the need to watch all of the above mentioned movies >.<
@SkarletRhapsody@xanga - MALLRATS!!
@ohveryoung@xanga - I love all the movies you mentioned! My list focuses mainly on teen comedies, but now I want to make another listing horror/supernatural flicks!
I'm surprised that neither Clerks or Mallrats made the list!
@SkarletRhapsody@xanga -
.... ;).... =DDDD.... =P....
Whaaaaat?
haha I loved Bring It On. I'm Still.Big. Red.
And of course...Clueless is probably still my favorite movie. Paul Rudd is so cute in it too!
And 10 things I hate about you... LOVE!
Never seen the others.... my friend was always obsessed with Jawbreaker though
@blackspiders@xanga - I consider Kevin Smith movies a whole other category. Clerks is one of my favorite movies, I just don't think of it as a teen flick.
These are all some of my favorite movies! :) I too harbor a crush on Ethan Embry <3 He just played a (sort-of) bad guy on CSI, and I was so upset about it. He is too adorable.
Spice World !!
@phuck_diz_shiz@xanga - YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that movie too!!
What about Teaching Mrs. Tingle?
@phuck_diz_shiz@xanga - YES. =D
CLUELESS. To this day, it's still one of my favorite movies! Ahh, that movie was when I decided Paul Rudd and I are meant to be.. sigh.
ironically enough i just watched can't hardly wait on encore today and clueless on oxygen yesterday.. i must get clueless on dvd!! that's going on my list of dvds to get!
Can't hardly wait still remains one of my all-time favorites, I can still watch that anytime.
Anything by Kevin Smith. And Dazed and Confused.
I loove Empire Records.
Those were the good 'ole days :)
@Ashley Nicole Anders@facebook - The one with the guy searching for the girl he had sex in an elevator with is called "100 Girls". I also love "Run Lola Run". :)
Bring It On...love!
but 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my faves, and always will be...
CLUELESS!! <3
@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - Wow, I haven't heard about that movie in years. I went to a sneak preview back in high school. It was called Killing Mrs. Tingle at the time.
I like most of the movies people mentioned here. I used to watch Cruel Intentions whenever it was on tv. As a kid, I liked watching Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. Even though that sort of fashion was in at the time (maybe even kind of exaggerated? I don't know. I hope so because it was terrible), I still remember thinking, at ~9-years-old, how dumb the outfits towards the end of the movie looked. I'm so glad that we've gotten rid of gigantic shoulder pads, too.
Love all of those! Just watched Can't Hardly Wait yesterday. But Jawbreaker was my fave I just love Rose McGowan.
