Are Animal Print Clothes a "Man Magnet"?

We all know that Snooki is famous for her leopard print dresses, but do you, the readers, believe that usually, the only time you wear animal print is when you want to be a little "wild?" You wouldn't wear a zebra print dress to a dinner with the in-laws, right? And if a stripper was going to work, does she more often than not, wear something with animal print? I'm being completely honest because my boyfriend and I had an argument about this.
We went to a pool party with a lot of people we didn't know. One of his old girlfriends was there, which was a surprise, but not as awkward as I thought it would be. She was clad in a leopard-print bikini, and she was partying hard, being drunk, and generally being "friendly" with the majority of the guys there.
Later on, when we all went to an expensive restaurant, she donned a tiger-striped dress as her evening wear. She then complained that guys treat her like she was "just a pair of tits and an ass." Though her behavior probably accounted for the treatment, I whispered to my boyfriend, "Well, what does she expect, wearing clothes like that?" My boyfriend immediately became irritated with me."Look," he said in a voice deep with disappointment, "Don't judge her and say she's kinda slutty because of the clothes she wears. A girl can be just as classy in a tiger-striped dress as a girl in a black dress." I nodded, but wasn't sure if I entirely agreed.
If boys were to hit on a girl based purely on the appearance of her, say, swimsuit, would they go for the one in a leopard print, or the one in plain black? I'm NOT saying animal print clothes are trashy, but I would assume that one would wear them because they want to be noticed.
Do you think that wearing animal print helps you gather a little more male attention, Lovelies?

That's not why I personally would wear them. I honestly find most of them pretty tacky, and would opt for something in a plain black before animal prints. I can't speak for other girls, though!
I'm with pikaaa: animal print = tacky.
No, they're just tacky, skanky, gross, and ghetto 98% of the time.
it is a little skanky, but why if your boyfriend getting so defensive for?
I don't care for animal prints as a part of my wardrobe but I agree with your boyfriend that it's not the clothes that make the woman.
Also, it may not be that he was defending her so much as expressing his displeasure at your unkind remark. It's been my experience that many men don't like it when women say unkind things of others or are generally "catty"
A girl can be slutty in a nun outfit, because slutty girls will be slutty regardless of what they wear. It's all in how they act and carry themselves.
Animal print's kind of tacky. I'd wear it in little doses, like headbands or bracelets. Your comments though, are so tacky that even a small bit of it can ruin an outfit; that's probably why your boyfriend spoke to you like that.
@x_UNF0RGiVEN@xanga - I would probably say what he said to a friend who was making comments like that; it's kind of bitchy, and it probably wasn't called for. Especially since she's also insulting his taste by saying his old flame's a slut.
I love leopardprint!!
I hate animal print clothing. I think it's pretty damn tacky,
My boyfriend hates animal print and it's probably because he thinks it's tacky and looks kind of slutty. I don't really notice what people are wearing unless whatever their wearing causes their secrets to show every time they sneeze :)
i love animal print, i don't think it's "slutty" at all. it's just a design, same as stripes or polka dots; who gives a shit?
I'm not a fan of animal print, I think it is kind of tacky... I only own a pair of slippers that have animal print.
I do think, though, that depending on the material (the feel of it, the color, the texture, the sheen -or lack thereof, the opacity, etc.), the size of the print and the tailoring of the item of clothing, it can look classy.
I like animal print in doses. It really depends more on how the clothing was designed to fit the person wearing it, and what they dress it with. But then, I would also agree that a majority of animal print clothing, is designed to draw attention, not just because of the print but also because of the cut and fit.
Now if you had say, a black bikini, and a animal print bikini, same cut, same fit, and had the same girl try both on, the animal print would still draw more attention, just because its a more "loud" design, which does scream for wanting attention. But hey, thats talking about a bikini.
I think its funny tho that you just mentioned "clothes like that" and he jumped to pointing out the "animal print." haha
I absolutely love animal print. You can look trashy in anything you wear, not just because they have a fun print.

But thats just my opinion.
Well, if your bf won't agree with you, mine agrees with you in that it's tacky.
wow if my boyfriend said that i'd flip
@youare_theonlyexception@xanga - Why? :/ I highly doubt it was said rudely, or meant that way... It's true, too. Can't judge a book by its scantily-clad leopard print cover.
That being said, I find most animal prints tacky. Leopard prints and zebra are the only two I like, in very small doses. On my nails, or maybe a pair of flats or a skinny belt. That's about it.
i fucking love leopard print. i don't give a shit if people think it's tacky or slutty; looking slutty for one night isn't gonna hurt anyone! ;) i hate zebra print though, just because i think it's ugly.
Animal print can be fine in moderation. A whole dress is overboard but a pair of shoes or a belt is fine. I don't think it would be a dude magnet. Just get a red dress and some heels to do the trick!
Meh. It's the person themselves who makes an outfit "tacky" or "slutty". But even so I agree with your boyfriend. Even if she did turn out to be exactly as you thought, who cares? Her sex life and what she chose to wear has nothing to do with you. I know women are used to be this catty but trust me it's really unattractive. Might be best to keep those kinds of conversations between you and your friends cause your boyfriend is clearly not into it.
too much of anything is tacky, imo, whether it be too much animal print, plaid print, polka dots, etc. my first impression of someone wearing an all over animal print dress or swimsuit is that they like attracting attention, which isn't my problem and hers to deal with if she gets crude comments, so to each their own. although someone wearing a form fitting black dress can still attract just as much attention if she has a hot body and maybe a prettier face
it depends on the person wearing it.
I usually wear a simple black dress but with some other statement piece, which is often my shoes. so plain dress but bold shoes for example.
I like animal print, but I don't wear it that often. I think it depends on the situation and the outfit as to whether or not it's tacky or classy.
I think it's that usually only extremely confident or outgoing people that wear animal prints. The prints are eye-catching and it's because of that that some people don't usually wear them. It looks awkward if the person wearing the animal prints acts too shy or introverted. I mean, if you're going to wear something flashy, might as well stand tall and own it.
