  • My Favorite TV and Movie Couples

I'm a little bit of a hopeless romantic. While I'm a sucker for any good story, I'm even more of a sucker for a good story that involves an awesome couple. That being said, I'm very particular about the couples I ship, but I get extremely invested in the ones I do. I already wrote a post on my favorite Harry Potter couples, so I'll spare you more squealing about how much I love Lupin & Tonks (they'd totally be first on this list). Here's my catch-all list of awesome TV and movie couples.

Claire and Bender (The Breakfast Club$14.98 from Amazon)

Alright, what girl doesn't love a bad boy who's really a softie underneath? Certainly not Claire! John may look (and be) a little bit dangerous, but it's not because he's an ass; he gets beaten by his father, so why shouldn't he be a little bit mad at the world? Claire is his polar opposite, but can relate to his parent issues and brings out his softer side. Just look at his face after she kisses him! *swoon*

Castle and Beckett (Castle: The Complete Third Season$45.99 from Amazon)

These two have all the right things in common, and are complete opposites in the right ways as well. Solving murders brought them together, but they couldn't be more different in their approaches; Beckett is serious and by-the-book, and Castle is totally outside the box. Castle is lighthearted and fun, which can annoy Beckett to no end but has brought her out of her shell and loosened her up. But when it comes down to being there for her, the fun and games are over, and he's a completely different man. Now all that's left is for them to get together already! (Hint hint, writers.)

Angela and Hodgins (Bones: The Complete Sixth Season$59.98 from Amazon)

Sure, Brennan and Booth would be the more conventional Bones couple to ship. And I do ship them, but god, after six seasons of UST, I love me some Hodgela, happily married and with a newborn baby! I haven't been as invested in Bones as I have been in other shows, so I don't know as much about the characters, but seeing these two interact just melts my heart. They're so in love! It's nice to see a TV couple get together, break up, get back together, and have a happy ending.

Marco and Dylan (Degrassi: The Next Generation - Season Three$39.98 from Amazon)

Why do Degrassi's gay couples seem to be the most functional on the show? I've been a fan of nearly all of their same-sex pairings, but Marco and Dylan, the original, will always have a special place in my heart. Marco had just come out to his friends, and was super nervous about going on his first dates with a boy. Dylan was more experienced and so patient and wonderful with him! I was heartbroken when they broke up... and then got back together and broke up again. By its end, the relationship had definitely run its course, but I still miss it!

Aladdin and Jasmine (Aladdin$29.99 from Amazon)

Okay, these two were my OTP before I knew what an OTP was. I shipped them when I was, like, five. It's such a great story of love knowing no bounds; screw class differences! A princess can fall in love with a street rat! Aladdin is such a cutie, and I'm pretty sure I wanted to be Jasmine when I was little. And can you blame me? That girl is no trophy wife!

Who are your favorite TV and movie couples?
