Majorly Disturbing: 10-Year-Old Model Does a Seductive Vogue Photo Shoot

This model appeared in a special edition of January's French Vogue a little while ago. The photos seem intended to be seductive, with the way they showcased her make-upped face, full pout, long legs, and editorial poses and clothes. Oh, and did I mention the model is 10-years-old?
The model's name is Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau and she is from the Ivory Coast in West Africa. Her pictures have blown up on the internet for her mature looks. Maybe too mature?
It's obvious that the young model is blessed in the gene pool, but I'm pretty sure French Vogue did not book this young girl just to look cute, and the photos are proof. The model looks like an adult posing with sexual intent. It kind of creeps me out in the same way Toddlers in Tiaras does.
According to Fashionista, a Tumblr dedicated to the model found readers taking the opposite view, penning comments about America being an "uptight culture":
It’s all a matter of culture. If she’s raized that way and mostly of european ppl have, how could they see a problem in it? Just because America have a more uptight culture, it doesn’t mean the other ones are wrong and “too sexualized”
What do you think about the pictures? Do you think Americans are too judgmental, or is this flat out disturbing?

Wow, she looks gorgeous. I just see it as a little girl playing mini-model, sort of. I don't see anything wrong with it, to be honest.
Also, wasn't there a post about something like this a year or two ago? This seems oddly familiar.
@eomona@xanga - Ditto. It's not like she's nude or something. I think America is uptight a lot of the time. We tend to make a big deal out of such trivial things. She's a gorgeous girl, and I think the photographer did a great job.
I didn't have a problem with this at first, but then I saw the 4th picture where she is topless and now I DO have a problem with this shoot. Pedophiles will just chew up that 4th picture for sure.*shudders*
You know, it just looks a bit odd and disproportional to see a little kid standing this way...
@lohanzodiac06@xanga - Yeah, I deleted my original comment saying it's not that bad, when I saw that picture...
Not cool.
I don't have a problem with it (except for the picture where she's shirtless). But I do think it's weird for a little girl to be posing like a grown woman. Well, whatever, she looks beautiful.
The topless photo is really inappropriate.
....oh my gosh
i think she willl be so gorgeous when she gets older
she has those downturned lips and big stunning eyes
and her jawline/bones are defined too
This is old news. The "Cadeux" ads are definitely old. It's only sexual if you want to view it that way. To me, it just looks like a girl playing dress up.
The one where she has no shirt on...wow, that's child pornography
she is really gorgeous and i think a 10 years old should not be posing like that.
let her enjoy her childhood!
This little girl is gorgeous.
Nice to see her parents are already making her into a little skank.
I don't have a too much of a problem with it except that the topless one is a little over the line.
What I don't understand is: who is vogue marketing for? I don't know any 10 year olds who would want to subscribe to the magazine and I don't know of any women who would rather see 10 year old models instead of adult models.
Why is the line always being pushed and pointlessly so?
I wouldn't say these two images are "disturbing". Perhaps because I haven't seen the "topless" shot that others are commenting about?
I think they're fine, but the topless one is eh. She is really pretty though.
I don't understand the intent of these ads. Are they selling to adult women or to kids? I don't see adult women wanting to buy from a ten year old model, and I don't see kids as being impressed with the glamour and sexuality that these photos suggest.
I only have a problem with the topless one.
I like it. She's not being overly seductive or skanky. This was done in a very classy way.
I TOTALLY understand the topless one... but what's wrong with the others? I don't find them "majorly disturbing". Maybe I'm missing something.
They're cute pictures, but yeah, they should've put a top on the kid in that one pic.
@WaitingToShrug@xanga - My problem exactly!
She's beautiful and will definitely make a good model when she gets a little older (16-19). Of course she'll have to be careful of the people that will want to sexualize her at that age, and he parents need to be aware as well. But nothing is sexual about these pictures, so I don't see a problem.
1. I wouldn't call that "seductive." and 2. Because I wouldn't call that seductive, I would also not find that "majorly disturbing."
Seductive would involve fewer clothes and, in some cases, a female straddling a male.
