  • I Don't Like Men in Baggy Pants

I wrote a blog once about my disdain for males in skinny jeans.  I still hold that disdain.  However, I found it funny that most people automatically assumed I liked a man in baggy jeans!  I really don't.

I remember being in middle school and guys used to sag their pants so low they couldn't walk properly.  They waddled like a pregnant woman.  My cousin's best friend used to try and wear my cousin's pants.  My cousin was 300 plus pounds.  His friend was maybe 150 pounds, wet.

Unfortunately, men still wear ultra baggy pants.  I mean, hey, I get the whole "room to breathe" thing, but what's wrong with something in the middle?  Fitted but not skinny, and loose but not baggy?  That's why they make FITTED jeans.  My boyfriend now wears fitted jeans and I think it's so sexy.  I hate seeing grown men's underwear.

Even worse is when they wear baggy pants and you can see their boxers, basketball shorts, sweat pants, and THEN their baggy, saggy jeans with a belt on.  (Don't laugh, I've seen that too many times.  I wish I was exaggerating.)

I like man to dress like a man. Not like a woman. Not like a circus clown. Is that too much to ask?

Thank you! And this is why I love my man (well not exactly why, but one of the reasons), He dresses like a man, none of that super baggy crap or so skinny it looks like the pants were painted on....That's gross. He buys clothing in the size that fits him. Thank Goodness!

  • d0wntherabbithole@xanga

I can't stand skinny jeans, baggy pants, and even non-baggy-but-are-still-down-by-their-knees pants on guys, haha.

  • xxGetWellSoonxx@xanga

I totally understand what you're saying, and I agree. I always loved this quote from the movie Clueless, "So okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don't get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair - ew - and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we're expected to swoon? I don't think so."

@xxGetWellSoonxx@xanga - Thats one of my favorite quotes from the movie too!

Does anyone remember Jnco jeans? I don't like them, but the nostalgic person in me wants to high five anyone still holding onto those baggy bad boys. Especially if they've got that half circle frayed off the back of the hem of their pants. Classic.

Honestly? Yes, it is too much to ask. You have your man who wears his sexy fitted jeans. Congrats, woo-hoo, huzzah, woot, etc.

Now leave everyone else to wear what they please, including men. Many women walk around with uber-cleavage and thongs showing. Though I find it trashy, it does not impact my life, and I can turn my head or close my eyes. What other people wear truly should not bother you this much ...er, at all.

My advice would be to kindly get over yourself. Your opinion of 'good fashion sense' is one of many, and no more important or better than that of anyone else.

  • Hinase@xanga

    I'm not bothered by it.

If they're comfortable in it, who am I to tell them different?

@Grtt@xanga - "Now leave everyone else to wear what they please, including men."

For once I agree with your sorry ass. Quite frankly any girl who judges me based on the way I dress isn't worth my time. As I've always said, there's only one rule when it comes to fashion: wear whatever the hell you damn well please and be confident wearing it. Fuck what other people think!

For the record, I'll wear my baggy jeans in cold weather, and fuck you if you don't like it, bitch!

  • prettykay04@xanga

    baggy pants are not cool.

if you don't see my panties, i shouldn't see your boxer!

@StatelessPilot@revelife - We actually seem to agree on a few things, philosophically/politically. You just choose to be an ass about your views and opinions, whereas I just choose to be an ass towards you.

I'm still waiting on the insult that's actually supposed to sting a little. Did you just give up?

  • deemure@xanga

I don't care about baggy jeans.
However...I have an issue with this

Pants are supposed to cover your ass! not hang below it. It makes no logical sense. I could care less if your pants are baggy. As long as they stay on your ass! ._.

    Angry rant over

the baggy pants example with bondage straps in this blog(probably chosen by lovelyish) is actually tolerable depending on who is wearing it. it looks like something a cybergoth hot guy with dreadlocks would wear and I'm picturing jason momoa, even though he isn't cybergoth but he would look so hot wearing these pants while shirtless enough daydreaming on other guys, just don't. I see what you're saying, because the "cholo" gangster looking style guys that wear baggy pants don't appeal to me anymore. I've known a lot of guys that dressed like this and they were some of the sweetest people to me despite their annoying style, although some were cute and got away with the look. I used to wear baggy pants. then I wore straight legged or bootcut jeans/pants. then tried out skinny jeans. I like to experiment with different styles. sometimes it looks good, sometimes it doesn't. depends. I used to be attracted to this style when I was a teen. I think guys dressed up like business men are hot nowadays. my preferences tend to change and that's okay

I like how there's offense taken yet it's a post written not as a personal attack on anyone, but as an opinionated blog.  Hence the opinion in opinionated.

My babe wears jeans that are baggy, but they're not too bad.  Not exactly fitted, a little looser than that.  But he'd look wonderful to me wearing a plastic bag, so maybe I'm biased. :)
  • ShirleyD@xanga

HATE them. I won't even consider dating a guy who can't wear normal pants that FIT them. I don't care how amazing he is: Turn Off.

  • Love_never_fails

I dislike any extremes. Too skinny, too baggy, no. I like them just fitted enough but not enough to see their man business.

  • MiaJoyTheWriter@xanga

I agree with you. Pants should fit...

  • xsimplepleasuresx@xanga

This reminds me of the guy who was walking in front of me a few years ago, his pants were around his knees and he kept pulling his jeans up to his mid-thigh every few steps.  If I were an unethical man, I would have robbed him just so the paper could say he was caught with his pants down.

  • WaitingToShrug@xanga

Regular jeans are the most attractive to me. But, not everyone is trying to please me, so.... I just try not to stare with a weird look on my face.

  • fried_ryce@xanga

I also don't like my guys in baggy pants.

  • needmoreink@xanga

@Grtt@xanga - LOL at both of your comments...good stuff.  And I agree.  Women don't like it when guys go around saying stuff like girls should only wear short skirts and things that push their boobs up, but yet we go around bitching about what guys wear all the time.  Not necessarily this specific poster, but just people in general.  Enough with the double standards, world!

  • shpadoinkle12@xanga

I don't mind pants like the one in the picture. There's a difference between baggy pants and pants that just don't fit. Wear whatever the hell you want, but I'd prefer not to see your ass hanging out.  :P

  • ncxcorexkid@xanga

I may be stuck in high school, but guys in Tripp pants always capture my attention.

  • blackspiders@xanga

Do you lay your boyfriend's clothes out every night, too? Or just nag him about what he wears until he eventually caves and obliges?

@StatelessPilot@revelife - This made me laugh. I agree, and honestly I feel kind of bad for her boyfriend. It must suck to have your significant other harping about what kind of pants you "should" wear. Any guy who tried to tell me how to dress myself would be out on the curb in a minute. I don't need someone that controlling; been there before, never going back. -_-

I let my boyfriend wear whatever he wants, because he is a grown man and I am not his mother. So he can wear old hand-me down Levi's and thrift-store shirts two sizes too big, and those dorky boat shoes that are really his only pair... I love the person underneath the clothes. :)

And since I am not a guy and will never have to worry about mens' pants, I can only say that my preference is to see a guy in pants that make him comfortable, bonus if the pants make their butt look good. :P

  • StatelessPilot@revelife

@blackspiders@xanga - Lol! Of course, take my fashion opinions with a grain of salt, seeing as how I have a love affair with 70s/80s style shorts (3 inch or shorter inseam), polo and tie-dye shirts, and fake/acrylic nails (use them for guitar playin purposes).

Hell, even the black slacks I have to wear as part of my airline uniform are pretty loose, I couldn't imagine sitting in the cockpit of a jetliner for hours in tight pants. God that would be so uncomfortable!

However, thanks for reminding me that not all girls are shallow and some love people for their person and not their fashion sense. In Mexico where I now live it's less of an issue than in the States (the people here are so much more laid back, open-minded, and accepting of diversity), so there is hope.
