According to
TMZ, the
Gossip Girl star has filed a suit against her mother. The suit claims the her mother stole money Leighton sent to her little brother and used it on plastic surgery instead.
Apparently, Leighton's mom refuses to work, but Leighton's brother suffers from medical issues, so she sent her mom $7,500 for him.
Not only did her mom use the money for cosmetic purposes, she is also trying to tell the court that Leighton and her have a contract that demands Leighton gives her $10,000 a month for life. Leighton claims that this is a complete lie.
She hopes the suit declares that there is, in fact, no such contract between her and her mom.
Wow, that is some crazy family stuff Leighton is dealing with!

I support Leighton in this. I just feel bad that she's been through so much with her mom, like she's opened up in interviews about her mom being in jail. It's all really sad for the whole family.
She can sue, but I don't know how much money her mom is going to have.
I definitely am on Leighton's side. Clearly her mom cares more about herself than her own family members. This is so upsetting.
If her mom has been in jail and she is suing her, I doubt she'll get much money. However, I support Leighton completely. What her mom did was wrong and her mother should know that.

I think she is hoping for the stated above so that any money she will send in the future will not go to her mother but to her brother, and that the money in the future cannot be disputed because of this lawsuit.
The lawsuit seems pointless. Why not sue for custody and take care of her brother directly? That would be a lawsuit with a point.
She probably is suing for custody.
