Katy Perry's Awesome New Music Video for "Last Friday Night"
Katy Perry never fails to disappoint with her awesome music videos. I was still obsessed with her otherworldly romance in "E.T" when I was suddenly swept away with her 80's teen movie inspired video for "Last Friday Night." Everything from the clothes to the cast (who wasn't in the video?) was spot on.
Perry took the cliche "nerdy, brace-face transformed to sexy, popular girl" theme and had some fun with it. Starring in the video are Rebecca Black (YouTube sensation known for her overly simplistic "Friday" video), Kenny G. (famous saxophone player), Kevin McHale and Darren Criss (both from Glee!), and even the Hanson brothers. Katy doesn't play.
The lyrics, which are light and fun (not to mention a bit of a narration of my own escapades), combined with the backdrop of a She's All That inspired storyline makes for yet another fantastic Katy Perry creation. Russell Brand must be proud.
Not everyone's a Katy fan, but what do you think of the new video Lovelies?

This was epic!
Kenny was AHHHHHHsum. lol
It's so amazing that I'm tempted to type in all caps!
Feels like the 80's again..and probably not in a good way O.o
SO AWSOME.... not..
ok, grammar police time. i'm sorry, i have to do it. you do realize that the statement "Katy Perry never fails to disappoint with her awesome music videos" indicates that you are consistantly disappointed by her music videos?
was that sarcasm? or was the rest of the article (in which you seem to glowingly praise her video) supposed to be sarcasm? please...please, someone, start editing these.
Very cool
Why is she partying like that with a 13 year old...? And is she supposed to be a nerd? Because honestly she acts like someone with a mental problem. I did not like this video at all. :/
Um, I don't think "never fails to disappoint" is what you meant here. And... yeah, I don't love this. The song is fun, but like @Pysia89@xanga said, it sort of feels like she's poking fun at people with mental problems, not nerds. It's a little too much for me. Also, Rebecca Black is 13. Also, I totally appreciate the appearance of Debbie Gibson.
That was interesting... I don't know...
@Pysia89@xanga - I feel the same.about the video.
fuck, can't watch it in my country :(
ahahah sorry but i love this video. You people have no sense of humor.
Btw, i'm glad Rebecce Black was in the video! ;)
Kenny G made the video for me.
weird that Rebecca is in this video when she's so young, but whatever. Omg...this looks like an awesome party. hahaha, I loved this video. :D
that was so cute :)
Katy is mid 20s. She needs to stop doing songs about teenagers, it's starting to make her creepy. ET is the only song/video I like of her, because that is the only one that doesn't annoy the living shit out of me...because it's not about annoying teeny bop kids.
@MissAshley - Agreed.
Hanson and Kenny G were definitely my favorite parts. The video overall was pretty cool. I just don't like the lyrics because I think drinking until you black out is not classy.
Kenny G made the video awesome (plus, I like Katy Perry!!)
