Is 'Judas' Gaga's First Flop?
I love Lady Gaga as much as the next girl. Her songs make me want to dance around, and I always look forward to watching what kind of fashion stunt she'll pull next.
Now that the 'Judas' video is out, there is more controversy than ever about the song's meaning, and about the Gaga herself. While I've only heard the song a couple of times, I'm not really blown away by it yet. I'm still on the fence about whether I like it or not because Gaga's songs always take me a while to really get into.
I've been hearing a lot of talk that 'Judas' could be Lady Gaga's first flop. It was only in the top 10 for a week, and is now sitting in the teens on the Billboard's Hot 100.
Do you listen to 'Judas' on repeat, or do you feel like it's the same as all of Gaga's other songs?

i don't listen to any of her music.
I fucking love it.
its catchy, i was listening to it a while ago. i think people prolly wont want to listen to it because its all religious like, but ts catchy as F**k
I don't think it is a flop
It's not a very good song, but it's frankly the only song of hers that I like.
She looks like Marilyn Manson to me. Interestingly enough, she's also using all of his attention-getting tricks that kept him in the limelight for... a year or so?
Any song that repeats a words 50 million times is going to get stuck in your head, so um, it's got that going for it. But other than that, it's rather annoying and I have no desire to hear it again, or watch the video again.
My roommate, who is obsessed with all things Gaga, played this song on repeat so many times that before it had even been released for 24 hours I was sick of it. The first time I heard it I liked it, but I can't stand it anymore.
It took me a bit longer to get into this song than her previous ones but it's not bad. Her songs are more for dancing and movement than for words.
I actually really liked that song and the video.
no, im obsessed with it so much
i actually really liked the song and the video. i think the video is pretty awesome and i can actually follow this one. i can see where the controversy is coming from, but who gives a fuck? i think it's those holier-than-thou ultra-Christians. techincally i'm roman catholic, but i think this video is brilliant.
Haven't heard it yet.
I think it sounds like Bad Romance.
It's like she can only write songs that repeat syllables. Really?
It's an incredibly shitty song (her voice in it is horrible, and while the lyrics are decent you can't understand anything given the bad background music and how badly she sung) and a very desperate an obvious attempt to get attention via "safe" controversy. She can't do anything involving "new" controversy; you won't see her sing a song about getting an abortion, but she'll talk about religion, which, oh, Madonna, R.E.M and so many others have done.
I don't think her sheepdom will consider it a flop, but the fact that she's already going for "controversial" topics that have been sung about a million times before proves to me that she's getting desperate and knows she must do anything to extend those 15 minutes.
@kuroshitsuji@xanga - I've noticed the repeating syllables thing is a trend that started with "Umbrella" by Rihanna and hasn't seemed to stop since... Bad Romance, that new Britney Spears song, this song, Single Ladies, Tik Tok, etc. It's like they know we as an audience are stupid and just like meaningless noise.
Born This Way sucked, too, to be honest.
I love it. The video wasn't what I was expecting, but it's all good.
i don't love it but i think it's way better than born this way.
don't like it.
@Ailean@xanga - I quite agree with that.
I like it. I thought Born this Way sucked though, so..
I think every song of hers is a flop. they all fucking suck.
I think it's a bad song, Born This Way sucked too. I don't know why she's trying to sing meaningful songs because they just suck.
they all sound alike.
