If You Had a Spare $800, Would You Buy Louboutins?
I’m seriously considering investing in a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes—more specifically kick-ass black pumps.
They run for about $800 to as high as $1100. I’m sure there are plenty of avid Louboutin fans out there wondering why I haven’t made the purchase sooner but this would be a good time to mention that I refuse to pay more than $35 for a pair of jeans.
I know, I wasn’t built with a shopping chip. But after watching Sex and The City, I fell in love with Louboutin’s sexy, red sole.
Who owns a pair of Louboutins? And who wishes they didn’t?

I'd rather just paint the soles of a pair of reasonably priced heels red.
800 bucks for some shoes? That can't be worth it. I'd rather donate a spare 800 bucks than show off how much of a consumer whore I am.
NO OFFENSE. If you like them and it makes you happy, get them.
@AlluringAddiction@xanga - I agree. Or at least buy the fake ones for $70ish.
The way I wear shoes out, I'd never pay more than 50 dollars for a pair of shoes. But, as I said, I wear shoes *out*.
@KickDrumHeart@datingish - Precisely. =]
probskiez
If you can afford them, you should buy them. I am coveting the same pair. High quality items are definitely worth the price tag, in my opinion.
I've been coveting Louboutins for a long ass time. The very top of my wishful thinking list is a pair of McQueen.
I have three pairs and I love them all differently. My basic black pumps are fantastic - but they're a made for a girl with a narrow foot. So if you've got slightly wide feet - I would be weary. However, I own a pair of espadrilles which are phenomenal and my wide feet are super comfy! My flats are divine. So - I'd invest! They're a staple for every fashion girl! x
@QuarterCarat@xanga - I agree. If I had $800 to spare, I'd definitely buy Louboutins!
They pay for themselves. They're so well made, and if something breaks you can get them fixed which is more than can be said of a lot of highstreet shoes. Yes they cost $800 but they last for as long as you can walk in heels.
If I had a spare $800 dollars, yes I would. I however never for see myself having that much money lying around plus I vowed never to get expensive shoes again since my dog ruined my $40 dollar American Eagle flip flops.
are ALL of louboutins super comfy? like even the super high heels one??
I love them. they look absolutely gorgeous!!if i have money to spare, I would definitely buy them and I am not good in heels!
if i had 800 dollars lying around i would do something worthwhile with it. i mean, you could feed a family in a developing country for the longest time with that kind of money. i mean, if you want to spend part of it on shoes, sure, whatever. but 800 dollars for shoes that quite frankly are really overrated and not that nice? pshh.
If I were to spend $800 on a pair of them, they definitely would be more fun and flashy than just plain black heels.
No. I have better things to spend $800 on. That's just ridiculous.
No, I don't see anything special about them.
The red sole is made as an effort to counter the fake Louboutins. Heels were originally made for men to wear for horse riding, so their feet can clamp onto the stirrups easier. But in all, this is a good investment. Too bad your toes will hurt.
100x yes!
Honestly... their shoes are the MOST comfortable things EVER. It's like they're the only company that's figured out how to make a basic 5"+ heel that's WEARABLE.
Eh. Do you know how many pairs of shoes I could buy for $800? I won't buy a pair of shoes over $60.
Oooh. Those are hot shoes. I'd never have $800 free though... there are too any other things to pay for x__x
They are SUPER comfortable. It's like I'm not even wearing them, seriously. I would definitely spend $800 on them. I take proper care of my shoes. Still, I'm a student and it's really stupid to buy them at my age now, lol. I'll get them when I finally have my career set straight. But to a lot of the people (not the ones commenting here) who find out I want to spend that much on shoes wear cheap $10 shoes from shitty stores, then they complain about how much their feet hurt. Quality is quality. Especially a timeless black pump, you have to spend money.
Not a chance. I mean.... if I was wealthy, yea probably I like shoes. But I'm not wealthy and my money ca go towards so many more important things... or simple more pairs of shoes!!
they are just a simple pair of classic black pumps with red soles. I'd pay no more than $40 for these. if I had the money, I'd buy the sparkly barbie high heels that I saw on kate moss on a lovelyish post a few days ago, but I'm not sure if they were louboutins...whoever designed it, I want those sparkly shoes.
Not even if I were wealthy. I wouldn't pay $30 for those shoes. They're boring.
