• LOL: The "Birkin Bag" Tote Bag

  

  The Hermes Birkin handbag is a perennial favorite of celebrities and fashionistas worldwide.  For years, it was the most coveted handbag in the world--the wait list to get one was reportedly 6 years long at one point!  Despite its widespread appeal, most normal people (A.K.A. those of us that aren't millionaires) can't afford the Birkin's price tag: depending on the size and materials used, they range from about $9,000 to over $120,000!

   

  Now, thanks to a company named Thursday Friday, anyone can get the look of a Birkin bag for a whole lot less.  For just $35, you can purchase the Together bag, a tote bag with the image of a Hermes Birkin screen-printed on it.  And it's nice and big, making it perfect to take shopping, to the beach or gym.  And get this: these bags previously had a three-month waiting list!  Right now, the camel color is out of stock but the red and blue are available for immediate purchase.

  Personally, I love the Together bag.  I love how Thursday Friday took something so iconic and high-fashion and made it accessible to everyone.  To me, carrying it around is sort of a funny way of saying, "I appreciate fashion enough to know what the Birkin bag is, but I'm not going to pay thousands of dollars for one."  The Together bag is also great choice for anyone who is still saving up for the real thing!
