  • The 4 Most Influential Celebrity Haircuts of the 2000s

As 2009 draws to a close, let's talk hair, Lovelies. The 90's had the ubiquitous Rachel haircut (fine, I confess, I had it), but this decade's also seen its share of stylish shears. Let's look at 4 of the most copied celeb haircuts of the 2000s:

The Pob (above).Victoria Beckham has always been a trendsetter, and when she slashed her hair into an asymmetrical mid-length 'do in 2007, women of all ethnicities reached for their phones to book a salon appointment. Rihanna did it (more on her later), and for several month the so-called "Pob" (Posh + bob) was the hottest hairstyle around.

But the fall-out from the Pob was steep, and VB herself chopped hers off into a short pixie cut. This year, Kate Gosselin revived the Pob, but added her trademark swoopy blonde bangs.

Gisele waves. Erstwhile Victoria's Secret angel Gisele stopped shows with her long, flowy locks. With the perfect amount of sleek wave and curl, her hair looked shimmery, soft and natural, and millions of us scampered to our curling irons to gel ourselves into Gisele territory. But we quickly discovered that "natural" actually takes a crapload of work (if you have straight hair like me, that is), and those effortless waves were much harder to achieve without a team of personal stylists. Texture continues to rule this decade, however, perhaps in backlash to the excessive flat ironing of the 90's.

Everything haircut Katie Holmes had. After getting hitched to Tom Cruise, Kate Holmes became an unexpected style icon for the first time in years. She rocked the Pob for a bit, and then flirted with blunt bangs before chopping everything off into a short, feathered boy cut. Short hair became increasingly more popular for women as a result in the late 2000s.

Rihanna got a bold makeover in the latter part of the decade, including slashing her longer locks into a bold pixie cut. But she didn't stop there; using streaks of color and gravity defying product, she improvised with her boy cut, sometimes gelling it into a fauxhawk, sometimes doing unfortunate things like this (eek!). But her experimentation and hair risk-taking came at a perfect time: the crest of the dramatic 80's revival.

Ok, Lovelies, my list might skew a bit recent, so help me remember the hot cuts of the early 2000s. And, spill: did you rock any of these haircuts? Which do you like and which should have never existed?
