6 Accessory Don'ts
1. Excessive piercings (above)
If this is your type of thing, then that's your own choice... but don't scare everyone else. Sometimes too much is just... too much (and I tried to find some of the 'nicer' pictures. Just type 'excessive piercings' into Google and see what you get). Personally, I think 3 ear piercings and 1 facial piercing should be the limit, but it depends on personal opinion.
2. Things that jingle when you walk.
Unless you're a belly dancer, we don't need to hear you coming before we see you. If it's a cultural/religious thing, ignore this rule.3. Over-accessorizing.
Closely linked with rule #2. But really, you don't need to wear the entire contents of your jewelery box to make a statement.4. Uncomfortable shoes.
I'm a girl, and therefore I understand the allure of heels. But if you're going to take your shoes off halfway through the night, and be in pain for a week, maybe heels aren't for you. (I say this from my own experience. I only own two pairs of heels) Oh... they're just so beautiful though *sigh* and yummy?! Are those chocolate?5. Chipped nail-polish.
It just looks tacky. Re-apply it when it chips off.6. Tight belts.
A belt that's too tight can create a 'muffin top look'. Loosen your belt, or buy a new.Do you agree with these? Have you ever broken any? What others can you think of?

i definitely agree with the overaccessorizing thing. but hey, sometimes you just don't have time to fix your chipped nails, and there are some times where you have to sacrifice comfort for looks when it comes to shoes.
hahahahaha look at the little boy in front of that woman at the grocery store in the second-to-last picture.
he's bad ass.
I agree with all of them except for the stilettos. I'm a big fan of those. They hurt less the more you wear them and you get used to them anyway, I have a ton of pairs and my hubby loves them.
The best kind of shoes are the ones that kill your feet haha. And chipped nail polish is inevitable :[
I agree with all of them except chipped nail polish and piercings. I don't wear nail polish alot - but when I do it gets chipped, I'm not putting it on for it to get chipped within an hour just to take it off again. If I put it on I try to kep it good but I've nothing against chipped nail polish.
And I think fair enough don't scare people with piercings, but I think that (as you said) is a personal choice, I have 9 ear piercings myself and I think they look fine. I thinkif someone gets scared by them they should look elsewhere - I'm not going to take my piercings out to stop scaring people. Fake tan scares me, yet it is still allowed (although admitedly not technically an accessory).
But yeah, high heels to look nice - if they are uncomfortable then it has been a waste of money - or buy shol gel foot pads or something. And the jingling is the most irritating thing aside from squeaky shoes.
Zee.
I personally like chipped nail polish. But it kind of goes with my style. I'm not your typical girly-girl as it is..
sometimes i put on too many accessories (>__<)
like.. lots of bangles and bracelets on my arms but they don't really make any noise
and i don't really care what others think of it cos.. that's just how i roll ;)
My nails are chipped like CRAZY right now. I'm just too lazy to remove it. Haha.
ah, whatevs. if everyone looked the same and perfectly polished all the time, people would be boring to look at.
"If this is your type of thing, then that's your own choice... but don't scare everyone else"
That annoyed me to no end. Maybe "everyone else" should learn to not be scared by multiple piercings or the color of someone's hair or the amount of accessories they choose to wear. Big fuckin' deal. I'm all for saying muffin tops should be avoided and don't wear uncomfortable shoes, but what ever happened to 'to each their own'?
Ew, chipped nail polish. I really hate it. That's the second reason why I don't wear nail polish to begin with. I agree with everything you've said, though. I will admit that I remember when I used to over-accessorize.
Haha good list I agree with all of these, except the painful if they look good and you can take the pain without constant then who should have anything to say about it!?
That's funny that you say that about the nails too, when my nails are short and I paint them myself I carry my nail polish in my bag to fix chips...I'm just obsessive like that lol
I'm not sure if I agree with that list or not- I think it could have been better. I totally agree with 1 and 3. But I LOVE Jingle Bell earrings around Xmas time. And sometimes uncomfortable shoes are worth it. And tight big belt can look super cute on a babydoll type shirt without giving you a muffin top. I think belly belts, fishnets, and lanyards should be added.
@lastlyfirst@xanga - I agree with you.
Piercings & tattoos are personal choices & as long as the person does it for themselves, it doesnt matter. People need to stop being so judgemental about them. Just because I have 4 holes in my right ear doesnt mean I'm a gang member or a bad person. In some cultures, piercings mark a rite of passage. Is that "wrong" too? Me & my piercings went to high school, college & my jobs & no one is bothered by them.
I don't agree with #2, I actually think things that jingle can be very elegant.
@forkss@xanga - AGREED!
For the rest, I agree for the most part. I have 9 face piercings, 6 of those are three up lobe piercings. No one has ever told me they're excessive, and I've had a professional job. I also think Sarah Jessica's jewelry looks great, and I like the next girl's too. Actually, I think all of them are fine if done the right way.
I agree with all but the heels and the piercings. Sadly heels seem to make any outfit look better.
And the piercings, I've seen some women who have a lot piercings get custom rings/barbells/whatever you call them and they look real nice... not something I'd do (I actually prefer the pain of a tattoo than that of a piercing), but still, I've seen it work.
Fashion don'ts are ridiculous, everyone should be able to do whatever they like and not get shit on for it.
I've been guilty of chipped nal polish, but I rarely wear nail polish so I'm mostly without it.
I agree with all of these except for the chipped nail polish one. Seriously, who wants to reapply their nail polish every other day?
im guilty of #2 but its not that "jingly".
There is nothing scary about body modification. Except for people who are scared of things they don't understand. Which a pointless ignorance.
i like chipped nail polish. it's not tacky, i like it cos it looks distressed.
@zeeron@xanga - Agreed.
I think that you can have as many piercings as you want, three ear and one facial? I don't think so. It's a completely different culture when you're into facial piercings, punk, or whatever. It's like saying, don't buy designer handbags to sorority girls.
And I always have chipped nail polish. I like it that way. Why reapply? That's a waste. I wait till it all chips off and re-do my nails.
@MsKittyCatty@xanga - ewww fishnets. is there any way to make them not look trashy?
