OMG, Gross! Jewelry With "Human" Accents
This stuff. I really don't know what to say. This is probably the most disturbing and odd jewelry line I've come across. Australian designer Polly van der Glas's new collection is described as the first collection of wearable works" by the designer.
The ring is made from human teeth, while the necklace has human hair. The designer uses donated (human) materials for the most part. I for one am not going anywhere near this, but I was wondering if there's anyone out there who would actually wear this? I mean, if it's been made, there must be a market for it, yes?
What do you guys think?

Um...the teeth creep me out. The hair is weird, maybe not gross or creepy but definitely weird. The teeth...that's just too far!

The necklace with hair isn't so bad. The teeth are just creepy.

The teeth jewelry is just a completely unattractive thing altogether. Who the fuck would wear this, let alone design it? A crazy person, that's who.
Not for me.
I'm more bothered by the hair. Mothers keep their children's baby teeth all the time, and while using donated teeth for mass production is gross, if I were a mom and had my children's baby teeth, I'd want to give them a purpose besides just sitting in a box somewhere. But they're both pretty gross considering it is a stranger's DNA.

The hair is definitely weird, the teeth ring is disgusting. EW.
I am studying to work in the deathcare industry - specifically embalming, cremating and funeral directing. There are options to have a person's cremains (the ashes from a cremated body) added into a lab-made stone... So you can keep grandma on your finger in that pretty, rose colored stone always.

Yes, that was my initial thought no the jewelry. I'm a bit obsessed with nice teeth.It's kind of weird, probably not something I'd ever wear myself.
