  • People Can Never Tell How Old I Am

In life, many people try to look a different age than what they really are. When we are younger we want to look older and as we look older we want to look younger. What about looking your age?   Growing up, people always thought I looked older. When I was 12-14 I was thought to be 16 or 17. This led to quite a few people trying to ask me out only to be humiliated that they just asked out someone that young. At 17 I could pass for 21 or 22, even had bartenders offer me drinks. I look a lot different that I did when I was 12 and yet at work the other day I had a guy think I was 16.

For reference I am 20, just a few months shy of being 21. I am married, have my own place and live like I am an adult but yet I still get treated like I am 16. I don't dress any way in particular, normally jeans, either a t-shirt or blouse, typically flats and a cardigan. I wear my make-up simple most days, no lipstick, eyeliner, mascara and foundation. If I am going out then I might go for a smokey eye, or another sultry look. It isn't my body type either, I am hourglass shaped and a good weight for my height. Sometimes my face does breakout, maybe this is a contributing factor. I would like to dress my age and I sometimes wonder if I am doing that wrong.

Have you ever been called younger than you were? How do you manage to look your age?
