Celebrity Sex Tape Scandals: Bad Press?
Okay so you know we all hear about celebrity sex scandals right?The thing I don't get is, when these nude pictures or sex tapes leak to the public (because they always do..no way around it), they act all mortified that they actually did that.. like seriously people you have dreams to become famous you DO NOT take your clothes of for nothing. I'm personally sick and tired of hearing about different celebrities who are all scandalized. You hear of stories where they are at the airport and their laptop is stolen, why would they be stupid enough to leave nude pictures of themselves on a device like that? I do not get it.
I'm starting to think that there is NO accidents when these kind of scandals are leaked to the media. I think they do it on purpose, because if you remember back, it has made said celebrity even more famous.
What do you think? Are they all accidental leaks or leaked on purpose?

They're leaked on purpose...I thought we all knew that already!
I've always pondered about that.
Mhm, well not like I'm interested in any of those videos anyways. They're all just a cry for attention.
I just think that they've got no sense of propriety.
In the world of celebrities, there is no such thing as bad press. And, they leaked on purpose. Their ratings do go up after a scandal like that happens.
They're leaked on purpose, even if it's not by the people in the tape. EVERYONE, celebrity or not, has a right to privacy. I think it's terrible that things like this happen but it's stupider to deny it (Paris!) when you know you did it. Handle your scandal! If you lie about it, it only gets worse when the truth comes out, then people question your integrity. If you just step up & say "yes I did it, it was meant to be private but it's stupid it's out", it'll die off. I hear about Paris' tape more than Kim's because Kim didnt come out & act stupid over it. Atleast Kim is a business woman with her own money who does more than party & get drunk so I respect her more anyway.

In response, I doubt most people are under the assumption their computer is going to get stolen. The same way with personal video tapes, etc. No one generally assumes their private property is going to become victim to theft.
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - I agree with you too. what's sad though is it's people they know & trust that leak their videos & photos. It's sad your own people sell you like that. I'm not even famous but my mother always warned me to be careful what I put on the net because nothing is private no matter how many precautions you take.
If you don't want your kinky videos leaked just don't EVER EVER EVER make them! Simple as.

also in the celebrity world, bad press is better than no presss.

Sum might be accidents, but the others are probably leaked especially when they have a new movie or something coming out.
I say good press if you're a no talent whore and have absolutely no talent or purpose, really. I didn't even know who Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton were and videos were released and now they're famous.
They want the tapes out there. With all their million$, can't they afford a good safe for the tapes???

I'm waiting for someone to do something extremely radical for attention... you know..like have an insane amount of real, developed TALENT... wow. what a shocker.
The majority of the time they are leaked on purpose, but I'm sure there are some "accidental leaks."
It's all carefully planned out
Some of them are probably on purpose, if you ask me. But, not all.
I can't really say that I feel sympathy for people, famous or not, who have their nude pictures, sex pictures, or nude videos or sex videos plastered all over the TV or Internet, or wherever else, though. When you take pictures like that, or make videos like that, you are assuming a risk. The risk that if you post these things on your own personal site, or send/give them to your boyfriend, or even just have them in your home where you think no one will find/see them, you might end up having someone steal them or someone who has access to them leak them to the Internet or (if you're famous, or have factors about yourself that make it big news even if you aren't famous) on the television.
Like with Carrie Prejean. I don't think that her sex tape was leaked with her knowing it would be or with her permission. It caused her legal battle with that beauty pageant to have some trouble. I can't remember if it was dismissed or if she just had to settle due to the tape, but either way she didn't get what she truly wanted out of that. However, it garnered her a lot of attention and she ran with it and she's a big deal now because of it.
Either way, if you make tapes or take pictures like that of yourself, no matter how exclusive you are about who gets those things or who sees them, there is always the potential for them to end up being seen by people who have no business seeing it/them and whom you don't want watching/seeing it/them.
However, its a different story if the person didn't know they were being pictured/taped. You can't assume the risk of something you didn't even know was going on. :p
Of course they aren't accidents. It gets their name in the papers and people talk about them. It's adds a sex appeal to their character and "no press is bad press", I guess.
Not accidents. Twisted way to get more attention and press.
FYI having your laptop stolen kinda happens and unlucky for those who are famous AND have nude pictures on there!!
ONE QUESTION.. where else do people put nude photos? ifnot on their phones or laptops or computers..??
and they do do it on purpose sometimes, i get it. but not always, but this post is not making sense at all.
PS: dont judge some-one because of what they do in their on private time!

FYI I'm not judging anyone for what they do in their private life. I'm just trying to say if people who have any dreams of becoming famous,they should not take any nude pictures of themselves because they always get out once they become famous.
I agree.
Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton for example responded as though they were "outraged" by the event, but once it landed them a TV show or yet another reason for them to get their pictures taken, they certainly own it then, eh? Bullshit.
I think Kim is such an example of this, her sex tape made her butt famous and now she's like a real celebrity. I couldn't give a damn about her or her sisters.
