Megan Fox is the cover story of an upcoming
New York Times Magazine. In this article Fox says "Women tear each other apart...Girls think I'm a slut, and I've been in the same relationship since I was 18. The problem is, if they think you're attractive, you're either stupid or a whore or a dumb whore. The instinct among girls is to attack the jugular."
Interesting. Megan Fox thinks women don't like her because they're jealous.
Now I don't have an opinion on Megan Fox one way or another--I've never seen any of her movies, nor do I wish to, but that's more because of the movies she's in rather than her.
But this comment struck me as interesting because it's an age old complaint and an unfortunate female stereotype. It's also an easy excuse for being disliked. There are many, many beautiful women in Hollywood--some are well-liked, others are not. I'm sure there are a variety of reasons for this, but I think it boils down to the actress/actors attitude. If I were to guess why Megan Fox isn't well liked, I'd say it has more to do with the fact she's accusing those who don't like her of having a case of the green eye rather than her beauty.
I think she's beautiful, I don't care if she's a "slut" or not, and I don't think attractive women fall into those three categories (stupid, whore, dumb whore), but I do think it's problematic to generalize about women. I haven't written any of this to tear her apart, but because I wonder if there's some truth to what she's saying. It reminded me of a song by my favorite musician, Ani DiFranco. In 32 flavors she sings " god help you if you are an ugly girl/ course too pretty is also your doom /'cuz everyone harbors a secret hatred/ for the prettiest girl in the room/and god help you if you are a phoenix/ and you dare to rise up from the ash/ a thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy/while you are just flying past."
What do you guys think? Do people dislike Megan Fox because she's beautiful (a phoenix flying past) ? Or is this just an excuse?

well her manner of dress, the half naked pictures of her that appear in magazines and the parts she plays in movies say otherwise to her claim of "not being a slut"
Well, the thing about her is that she says some incredibly stupid and controversial things. I'm almost sure( I can't speak for everyone) that the reasons she are disliked arent based on jealousy alone, but it's awful cute of her to think that.
every article I've read about people dealing with her personally says that she's very mean. I think she is absolutely stunning. I don't like her taste in tattoos, but hey, there's awlays something, right?
Well...I've never seen her movies. But from what I've heard, she's ugly as sin to the people she works with. Has she ever considered that that's why people dislike her?

I dislike her because she sets this standard that women need to be these sex machines, and she carries herself with this look on her face like "I'm nothing more then a sex object, take me".

I think this is dead on. when I read blogs about Megan Fox being "An ugly slut" It makes me so mad. People like to label/categorize when they have never even met her. But the truth is they are just jealous. Who could blame them?
i think it's just an excuse. i think women don't like her because in everything she says she just sounds so fucking full of herself. if she had a good attitude and was sweet as pie, people would have liked her.

I actually really used to like her, until I saw her in an interview and realized how shallow and stupid she was. Her comment, "you're either stupid or a whore or a dumb whore." proves this point, lol. Isn't being called stupid or a whore or a dumb whore all kind of the same insult? I still thinks she's beautiful, but that doesn't make her a good actress of less over rated.

I think she's gorgeous. A lot of women do get jealous, though.
However, whenever I hear a story about her, it's never like "Megan saved a bus full of children from drowning!" I think I heard that she was dissing the director of Transformers, who pretty much helped her "rise from the ashes." anyway, any story I hear about her makes her out to be mean, shallow and self-absorbed - maybe she is, maybe she isn't, I don't know.
I jusdge a person by their good deeds. so if a person is selfish, then they're pretty much useless - they might be hot and good for sex, but other than that..

Her beauty doesn't bother me (it would be really really shallow on my part to hate someone because of their beauty), it's the things that she sometimes says. I don't even hate her at all, I just don't think she would be someone I'd hang out with.

I like Megan Fox. I actually agree to some degree that some women can get ugly when they're jealous.Most girls I know hate on other girls because they have the beauty and get all the attention. I'm guilty of it.

megan fox should be admired alone on her beauty. what is there to hate? her voice isn't horrible, her looks are beyond average in the eyes of society? and gosh darn it i enjoy watching her play bitches in movies.

From most of her interviews, I just think she is a bitch. She alright looking (her tattoos... well not very good choices). My friend is obsessed with her (she is a female) so she gets mad at me when I say that she is nothing special but to me she IS nothing special.
And I think Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe are absolutely breath-taking gorgeous and I don't call them dumb whores, *whispers* more like I have a little shrine for them*whispers* (not really but you get what I mean).
From every picture I've seen of her.. she either looks stupid or bitchy, based on the look on her face, I'm completely ignoring her body here..

honestly, i think most people ARE jealous when they go on and on about how "ZOMGZ UGLY" she is and her "toe thumb." if she wasn't successful and beautiful, people wouldn't say those things about her.

As a female, last I check, I do admit to play this "categorize this bitch: stupid, whore, or stupid whore" game.
But I don't do it to all females. I don't do it pretty females. I do it to females that uses their sex appeal to get ahead.
Please note that sex appeal is very different from beauty.

Megan Fox has sex appeal. She's not beautiful. She's hot, and pretty at best, but not beautiful.
And I do think she's stupid because she opens her mouth. It's not talking, it's just trash coming out. So yeah... she's stupid. Not sure about the whore part, but she certainly dresses like a girl with OVS (overactive vagina syndrome) from a different post.
And yes, I made up OVS. The post was called Restless Vagina Syndrome I think.
Some friends I know working on Transformers II were talking about how some of the crew wrote an open letter to Fox telling her she was being a giant bitch. I'm not sure if they used those words- but they got their point across. Also she keeps trash talking the people who made her famous. She has a sour personality.
She's a conceited bitch. She never smiles in her pictures. And she's hideous.
Like guys obbsess over Megan, we (as in y'all, not me) obbsess over the Twilight crew members.
