I think that she has to stick with a certain image and that's why she dresses the way she does.
I think it's both. I imagine she experiences a lot of liberation walking out of the house in those outfits.
I wonder what people say when they walk by her? She's a walking freakshow. But it makes her popular and gets her noticed. So yeah, brilliant marketing.
It's brilliant marketing. If she didn't dress like that, people would probably not give a shit about her. Plus, if you look at past pictures of her, she looks absolutely normal.

Brilliant marketing. She's actually a talented singer, but people only seem to focus on her clothes.
I think it's a combination of both marketing and her quirky taste.

Dont think this is a bash at Gwen Stefani because it's not. I just find it funny how some people pick on Lady Gaga but no one said anything about Gwen Stefani dressing like Alice in Wonderland with 4 Japanese girls following her everywhere. I love the music & the outfits of Gwen & Lady Gaga & I find them to be similar yet Lady Gaga is getting flack for her choices. I agree they are a bit out there, but as I said in another post, everyone has a gimmick.
Atleast Lady Gaga can sing. Most people use gimmicks because their singing range isnt that broad & they want to keep/attract fans. I think Lady Gaga does this because she wants to.

Well you know how Flava Flave or w/e his name is has those clocks, and Kanye has those ugly shutter shades? Gaga has her eccentric clothing. Be it for marketing, or that she really wants to wear it I actually like the fact that she stands out.
I love everything about it except for the head wear.

Hey, Elton John dressed eccentrically way back in the day. Lady Gaga's just doing the same thing. It's all about marketing.
suri cruise has a better sense of style
that is jean paul gaultier runway style. only in showbiz will people actually wear that stuff and it is crazy but still normal because it is for attention to make money. if regular people dressed like that, they are deemed mental.
