I Have Store-o-Phobia
I completely made up the name, but I suppose a few people can make the association. I hate shopping, particularly for clothes!
I have the kind of figure that is hard to dress: small bust and waist but big ass and hips. Sort of a half hour glass figure can I say? Anyway, I had to go to a funeral earlier this month and I had to get me some black formal pants. I am a teenage girl and I think shopping for clothes is meant to be some sort of primary interest, but the stores, or rather the clothes all have a way of looking really um, how do you say-CRAP on my body.
Due to this I just tend to avoid clothes stores. I am not really scared of them as such, but really just am not comfortable in them. Clothes these days are made so weird. When I was getting the above pants for the funeral, I got this pair I thought was really nice and tried them on. They clung to my thighs and ass but on my waist were the loosest ever. It's frustrating the way I cannot find decent clothes, so much so that I made up a disorder.
I like fashion and clothes but my dread for the clothes themselves just puts me off and has me stuck with my shit closet to this day.
Do you feel this way? Hands up, all store-o-phobics!

Your shape is called Pear Shape..... and agreed
I used too have store-o-phobia. Maybe, I still do but I'm coping and learning how to deal with it. Like alter the length of my pants when the top fits me well.
I don't like to go shopping. Maybe because I can't afford very much or maybe because I can't decide and maybe because I am very insecure. But I do love fashion!
I feel like pants are difficult to find - for everyone. Jean shopping is the bane of my existence.
Hence, why I am addicted to shoe shopping.
They ALWAYS look good
i used to be store-o-phobic, as well. sometimes i still am. i lost a lot of weight, and i thought that would help, and it did. but it didn't help with the issue of how i perceive my body.
it sucks, but you just have to go into stores. a lot of them. be open minded. try a lot of shit on. find brands that you like and that fit you, and when you do, you can always rely on those brands. also, try googling clothes for your specific body type. you'll come across something.
be patient and have an open mind. you can get through it, i promise.
I don't know how to shop, honestly. I end up scurrying around the store, grabbing things... And plus, I'm not very confident either, I think people glare at me because it's like I don't belong in a certain store.
Yeah..I'm not the typical girl at all. I like to know what I'm looking for and get what I need and move on to something else. Clothes shopping just frustrates me lol.
I used to be this type when I was "overweight" and seeing all these skinny girls walking around the store so comfortably made me... uncomfortable :(
its hard to shop for pants
im pear shaped too! shopping for pants is soo much work.
*gasp*
impossible im addicted to shopping!!!
My body is weird...I'm supposed to be an "apple" shape because I have a big belly, but a somewhat small waist...I have great legs, but big hips. And I have D cups.
Basically I end up getting plus sized pants with a Medium shirt. RAGE. We need an in-between regular and plus size store :P
i love shopping! it awesome and helps me to de-stress
i dont look good in pants too so i dont shop for pants.. usually wear formal dresses !
I don't like shopping either. I don't see what the appeal is.
I can generally find shirts that fit me. Jeans that fit me are hard to find and getting more difficult to find, with skinny jeans being in style. Shoes? Forget it. I seriously hate shoe shopping. I can't find size 8.5 wide width tennis shoes. Those that I do find don't work with my feet, thanks to my specially-made insoles that help me walk.
i have to try on clothes. thus i love shopping. if it doesn't look good, then so be it. not everything will look good on me.
nope. shopaholic.
I love trying on clothes and going shopping, but I usually have to put most of it back because I don't have that much money to spend. I have store-o-phobia, not because I can't find clothes that fit, but why tempt myself to try on clothes and get all excited when I can't buy all of them
I have a small waist but somehow bigger hips, i can shop for shirts to wear but i hate shopping for jeans... especially jeans.
lol i'm pear shaped :[
I love shopping. The whole exciting part of it is trial-and-error. Going to numerous stores and trying on different clothes and figuring out what works for you and what doesn't. Sometimes it can be frustrating, yes, but don't give up.
I just bought 2 pairs of jeans at Bluenotes today. It took me an hour to figure out what size and type of jeans are right for my body. Jean shopping is hard, but I love wearing jeans.
i kinda am, kinda aren't. does that make sense?
One piece dress will look nice, this kind of clothing, it hides the lower part of your body =]
You'll get over it, I have the same feelings when I shop too (but I have to admit, I think you have a worse situation than me). Just keep looking until you find something! And try to see what kind of style looks better/you just like no matter what and go with it!
