  • Lofty Thursday: See methodElevated's Townhouse!

Editor's Note: Lofty Thursday is our new series where we feature your charming and creative (or even creatively messy!) home and office decor. To have your space featured, submit your post here (be sure to include "Lofty Thursday" in the title).

This is the townhouse I share with my boyfriend.  I was ecstatic when he agreed to painting the walls with me when we moved in.  Our old apartment only had white walls, and it drove me nuts.  It wasn't well decorated except for the living room, either.  My boyfriend let me have almost complete design control with our new place -- which was great because he and I share similar interior styles.

I was inspired by colors in the cool and earthy palates, clean lines, and a calming, almost zen-like feel.  I used my own artwork wherever I could.  All of the photography shown and the two paintings in the bedroom are mine.  There are a few other pieces hanging up that I don't have pictures of to show you, though.

Our place isn't that big and has a slightly awkward layout on the main floor, so I tried to make it as uncomplicated and uncluttered as possible (although there's a bit more clutter now that we've lived here for a year).  Some of it may seem a bit sparse and unfinished, and that's because it is.  We never got around to finishing everything due to lack of funds.  The workroom/studio, however, doesn't look like it does in these pictures anymore because we're in the process of remodeling it right now.  We have half of the room done (thanks, Ikea!) and we will finish it once we have more money.  Pictures of my design ideas for the room are included below, although it looks so much cooler in person.  There will be a desk for him to make his music and work on his books, and one for me to make my art.  The other side of the room will have the same reading chair, and it will also have lots and lots of storage so that we won't have to cram everything into our walk-in closet.

    New Workroom Design

Before we moved in here, I used pictures of our old apartment to play around with colors and wall designs:

What do you think of my style?
