There’s just something about pimples that makes me want to squeeze the life out of it. I’m constantly being told not to touch them so I repeat that advice to anyone who asks. But I am a big fat hypocrite. I burst my pimples, pick at it, irritate it till I’m left with a scar or a crater. To top it off, I burst it the wrong way.

The WRONG way to pop a pimple:

    - Never touch or pop with nails (there are bacterias, germs, dirt under your nails that can cause skin irritation)

    - Allowing blood to surface to the skin (will cause scarring)

    - Picking at your skin with makeup on it

The right way to pop a pimple: (CLICK HERE for video)

    - Wash skin with soap and water or wipe it down with anti-bacterial wipes

    - Exfoliate dead skin around to prepare the pimple to burst

    - Cover your fingers with “finger mitts” or rubber gloves and tissue

    - Steam your skin if possible to open up pores

    - Instead of squeezing the skin around the pimple but stretch it out to make it taut

    - Wipe the contents of the pimple (dead skin, sebum, white blood cells AKA puss) making sure you don’t get it anywhere else and spreading it

    - Apply Benzol peroxide (pimple zapper) which sends oxygen to the area to heal itIs there anyone out there that has more self control than I have? Which pimple cream works best for you?
