  • How to Make a Lady Gaga Halloween Costume

As I mentioned before, Lady Gaga has a fresh approach to fashion and music, opened up a new style...several, in fact! Here are a couple of her signature looks that you can imitate just in time for Halloween!

What I love about this is that you could probably pick a few things out of your own closet, buy a couple items at Forever 21, throw on a platinum wig and you're good to go! I know we often hop to multiple Halloween parties every year and having to have a different costume each time can get expensive and tiresome. With just a few changes, you can rock out as Lady Gaga while looking recognizable and distinctive every time!

    Things you will need:

    1. A Blonde Wig
You can vary it up of course...she has evolved from the simple long blonde hair to several hairstyles. There are many kinds and qualities of wigs out there and unfortunately for me, Target's $10 wig was terrible. I know it was cheap but it was cheap cheap cheap!

See?? Haha, anyways, I returned it and am still looking for a better one around here. Hence, my delay in that video.

    2. Leotard (Spandex is best)
I personally own this one from American Apparel. I got it at the Camarillo Outlets here for much less than the retail price!

    3. Heels
Black is safe and I love these from Target.

    4. Large, Angled Sunglasses
Get massive ones! She likes to sport the angled ones but I'm sure any large pair will do.

    Extra Accessories:

    Hair Bow

    Latex
    Shiny Mask
Abstract shapes attached to mostly the shoulders

    A Few Signature Looks:

I think this outfit is what garnered a lot of attention at first. She wore this in the winter of London I believe! Frigid! Even better, this outfit is super easy! Every girl should have a black bra. As for the skirt, just go to your local fabric store and pick up some shiny latex or stretchy fabric that won't run. Wrap it around your waist once and have them cut you the appropriate amount. You can even hand-stitch the single seam. Voila! Throw on your wig and huge sunglasses and as long as people don't live under a rock, they will recognize your "costume."

White Blazer over a Nude Leotard.
While I still believe American Apparel is overpriced, they admittedly have a great selection of basic items. Here are some leotards you can pick from. I bet you could walk into a thrift store and find a oversized white men's blazer or perhaps raid a dad's/boyfriend's closet?

I love her Poker Face getup. The lightening on the side of her face, the gloves, the spandex unitard and the sparkly mask...LOVE IT!

The mask is definitely more work, but totally do-able!

This is a bit more challenging, but basically you could just blow up a bunch of transparent balloons! I can't guarantee that people won't try and "pop" you all night but it'll ensure a fun night!

That was just a quick summary of a few ideas, any suggestions of your own? What are you going to be?
