'Wuthering Heights' Redesigned to Look Like Twilight
Twilight cover (left), the new UK version of WH (middle),and the new US version (right).
Harper Collins has redesigned their editions of the classic book Wuthering Heights to resemble the cover of the non-classic Twilight series.
Apparently WH is the favorite book of the characters in the series, so Harper decided to try to cash in on Twilight mania and hope teens will pick up their copy of Bronte's book.
Which is great, if it gets more people reading the classics, but... should we have to put pretty pictures on covers to get people to read literature? At least there's not a picture of Robert Pattinson on the front.
Do you like the WH covers? What do you think about redesigning literature covers to resemble Twilight?

NO!!! God Twilight is such a horrible excuse for literature. Wuthering Heights is a great example of classic literature; it's sad the publishers would stoop so low to mimic Twilight to get more readers.
I do think they are trying to piggyback Twilight to draw in teenagers/tweens but I cant get mad. It's getting young people to read, so it's good but I think Stephenie Meyer should have been consulted first, or whoever designed her book covers if she didnt.
I think this is awful, what a way to sellout such a classic novel.
What. The. Hell. I'm going to go cry now.
I don't like the cover and I don't like Twilight.
:(
I wish this Twilight phase will die. I am going to apologize to all the Twilight fans young and (OLD), but this fantasy world must die. I think companies all over has tried to cash in on the concept of vampires, heck, CW has new show with similar plot lines to Twilight. Wherever I seem to walk, I can catch a glimpse of something Twilight. I watched the movie and I was not impressed by it. Call me spoil, but I enjoy scenes that didn't involve a headache.
Wuthering Heights is one of those books every AP Lang. or Lit teacher assigns. It's a classic and a must read. I liked the book but alluding to a Twilight parallel destroys the meaning of the story. I despise this re-design. I understand trying to cashing in on young teens, but I find it unnecessary. I think if you can have a talented artist come up with something, definitely it will sell... because some people judge books by their covers...
Wuthering Heights is in my top 3 favorite books, but this just looks like a rip off.
I don't think they should've imitated the Twilight covers. It's unoriginal and a little bit pathetic...
Smart marketing move though
I haven't read (and most definitely will not read) any of the Twilight books, but if it gets people to read I don't see the problem with having similar covers. Contrary to the saying, people do judge books (and most things) by the cover. I know I do, especially when it comes to books. I'm not opposed to reading a book with a less attractive cover, but it's definitely not one to catch my eye.
I personally don't care for the covers. They don't really express what Wuthering Heights really is, show the essence of the book. But I love reading, and if that's what it takes to get people to read, then who am I to say anything =P?
I think it's cute, but I wouldn't pick up a copy just because of the cuteness. Then again, I already have a copy of WH that's nearly as beat up as Bella's copy.
ugh the cover on the right makes me sick, but i guess it's good marketing. "bella and edward's favorite book" ughhh "love never dies" omg.
Way lame. People should read a classic piece of literature if they actually want to...or need to. Not because of some lame teenybopper fantasy.
The font is horrible.
....They just ruined a classic cover that is Wuthering Heights. Twilight is twilight. Wuthering Heights is not and should not try to copy that. That book is a classic, why piggyback on the success of twilight to get your book to sell. People should want to read WH because it is a timeless novel.
Ew.
Don't like the font..
Speaking of which, I should finish reading Wuthering Heights.
Awful.
Wow, I like both of the covers. If it exposes more people to the beautifully-written Wuthering Heights, then it's a good thing.
i think it's funny.
all the bronte sisters must be rolling in their graves if stephenie meyer is considered a better read.
holy crap, it actually says, "bella and edward's favorite book." -___-
What is the middle cover even about? It looks like an amateur CG class gone wrong.
I'm sorry, Emily, for the bastardization of your genius work.
wtf blasphemy
That's horrible.
I actually heard a lecture on how horribly vapid Twilight is from an english teacher today.
Ick, this is insulting, classic literature deserves to be recognized by those who can understand more than "OMG ITS BELLA AND EDWARDS FAVEST BOOK."
Aw, they shouldn't have done that.
the cover wouldn't kill me so much if they didn't have "EDWARD AND BELLA'S FAVORITE BOOK" in the corner.
Oh wow. Hmm...not cool.
