I was telling my friend who was complaining about a girl going totally psycho on him that I think blaming a girl's mood swings and overall crankiness on PMS is perfectly legit (but not every single day!).
"
If I were bleeding out of my ass for 7 days, i'd be kinda pissy too," my male friend said sympathetically.
Then, i had to explain to him that PMS stood for PREmenstrual Syndrome, so technically PMS-y mood swings can't be blamed on your entire period.
"But,
is there a POST-ms? coz that would be double f*ckage."
and it occurred to me that i had wondered the same thing. on a bad month, i can be angry/sad/you name it before (Pre-MS), during (MS), OR after (Post-MS)
Do you get PMS? Do you get grumpy before, during, and/or after your period?

nothing changes when i'm on my period.
i just bleed.
no mood swings, anything.
i have PMS, pre/during/post/till-the-next-one :S
Lol. That's not PMS when it lasts all month. It's called "being a bitch" =]
I don't have PMS. I'm lucky. It "stopped with the pill
@Sammyhellsyea@xanga - LOL
I get really irritable during PMS. Everything i come in contact with just annoys the crap out of me.
It depends if I've been healthy that month and if I've been working out and stuff my periods dont really hurt or anything and I'm good
However usually I don't so I get super emotional before my period. I cry a lot I get really deppressed and it's awful. I know it's probably cause of my period but it doesn't help. Plus things affect me a lot more. Then I'm kind of cranky while I have my period. I tend to be bitched. But I'm fine afterwards
honestly, i kind of don't believe in "pms."
I get mood swings before my period, however, using PMS to explain bad behavior is just immature. PMS doesn't affect your ability to make mature decisions and letting it fly just b/c your hormone levels change isn't a good excuse.
i ever had pms/pm/post-ms hahaha.
i am kinda a skeptic about pms, but at the same time, i notice i'm much more irritable the week before my period. so maybe it's not a total myth.. just don't overuse it
When I PMS I don't have mood swings or whatever, I don't even freak out on anyone. But I do think very pessimistically, put myself down a lot, and question others motives.
i have higher anxiety, i think. maybe get slightly more emotional about some things? not a whole lot though, and i've only recently been tracking it... so it might not even be more accurate. usually though when i'm worried about something, i think of how soon it's coming. usually calculates out.
When I PMS I usually just go crazy, like honestly crazy. My mom wants me to do hormone testings hah. Sometimes I may get cramps the day before and the day of my period really bad, but it's only a day or two. The rest of my period I am usually fine, and then afterwards I may be a little tired, but that is it.
Wow I never knew about Post-MS. O_o
I tend to get more annoyed with people, more easily. But I don't freak out on anyone.
is there such thing as post pms??
@Sammyhellsyea@xanga - Agreed!
I'm always worse after my period. It's ridiculously weird.
I actually don't get any of that. I mean, I do get my period...haha...but I don't get all PMS-y and try to kill everyone in my way. I still act the way I normally do on any other day.
@Sammyhellsyea@xanga - That's what I was thinking. Haha.
I get easily irritated and emontional around 2 days before my period and then I'm fine.
I don't have any issues prior to my period, and as I've gotten older I've started to realize what ovulation feels like... so if anything, the time leading up to my period is really neat. Immediately after, I do get irritable. I don't know if I could ever jump to the idea of pre-post-or-other menstrual syndrome when "hormonal" can describe a lot of what happens, with mood especially.
@Sammyhellsyea@xanga - But I will agree with this.
no such thing as POST-MS . its just means you[ not you, you] are just a bitch. lol.. but there deff. is PMS.. your hormones are ranging, you get a killer headache/ cramps, plus your very emotional. ughh i hate when the time of the month comes.
I agree that it's over-hyped and not all women suffer from PMS, but I know a few that legitimately do. Myself included. For a full year and a half, I menstruated for 10 days, had 10 days off, then menstruated again. Believe me when I say IT WAS HELL.
Ever since then, I've suffered from really unstable hormones, severe hot flashes, clotting issues and the like.
Moral of this story? Careful when you generalize women and say "it doesn't exist". I have no other way to explain why I have zero energy the days leading up to it, or how I somehow manage to get sick once a month, on the same day. I mean... maybe it's a coincidence, but something tells me it's not.
My name is Katy, and I suffer from PMS!
I hate my period. I don't get pissy before. I get pissy during. And then I'm fine after. But I'm mostly angry with myself than at the world so I just seem a bit grumpy to others but otherwise I'm good.
