The Cleopatra's Cream, anyone? I saw this "magic" cream as proclaimed by many, many celebrities who swear by it. Madonna, Kate Hudson, Virginia Madsen, Oprah are amongst the many who says they just couldn't live without this product. Just what exactly is it?
The
Egyptian Magic Cream, a 100% Natural skincare cream, promise to have legendary healing powers due to its unique blend of all natural ingredients abstracted from living plants and organisms. I have read so many great reviews about this product, it was just unforgivable if I didn't give it a try myself.
Happily, I bought my big tub off Ebay! I was excited, so much that I decided not to even replenish my regular moisturizer. For the first 3-4 days, I smeared this product all over my face before I headed to bed. A little amount of this product gets your whole face really oily! I slept in optimism, with trust that this product will do its work by keeping the whole face moisturized throughout the night. Sadly, it didn't deliver results that I was hoping to see. When I wake up in the day, my skin (although smoother), was still oily. The product has yet to be fully absorbed in that full 7 hours. I did not want to think about the dust that has settled on my face in the night....
I have highly absorbent skin. My face absorbs products pretty quickly, or so my dermatologist has said before. I was thus quite shocked to see the product left over on my face after a whole night's sleep. The very next day, I reduced the amount used. Same results....after 4 nights, I gave up. I noticed little oil seeds forming on my face, near the eye area. These milia seeds are a result of skin cells being trapped under the skin’s surface. They can come about by sun exposure or using too oily moisturizer.
Despite this product not being suitable for my skin, I reckon it must have worked for many to have read all the plus reviews. Perhaps this cream will work better for people residing in drier countries like in European cities. As we age, our skin cells renew itself slower, thus its ability to restore and absorb moisture may be weakened. This product could actually work much better for more matured skin types, as it is an emolient-based cream. It reduces the amount of moisture loss through the skin, thus keeping it firm and supple.
To judge if this product works for you, the best way is of course to test it personally. For those of you who might still be keen, here's what is written on the jar itself:
Life Takes from the Taken and Gives to the Giver. Above All let your word be your bond.Directions : Take moderate amount and rub in our palms until it takes the form of oil (It helps the skin absorb effectively.) Apply over your skin gently. Peace, Divine love, perfect health, internal, eternal wisdom and infinite blessings unto you, precious one. Kamitian folklore recalls the existence of a miraculous skin cream secretly used by the great sages, mystics, magicians and healers of ancient Kamit, used as an anti-aging skin rejuvenation to maintain radiant, healthy, smooth and glowing skin.Ingredients: Olive Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Pollen, Royal Jelly and Propolis ExtractThere's even a money back guarantee on the label!!!

looks good !
Hum.. the composition don't really look egyptian. Olive oil is more a traditional roman/greek product than egyptian, and it's a so basic product in fact ! Easy to find something like this in Bio shops.
The composition seem to be very good, with good products and no strange things . It's an easy product to do (if you make cosmetics).
i want to try this b/c i have combo skin
you could just have someone make soaps/products for you. cheaper, and exactly for your skin.
you can look on http://www.etsy.com, there are lots of people willing to do this.
i have my own shop there as well, i create soap.

It cures acne?!
About how much does it cost?
@Begierde - actually, the romans had a constant trade with egypt at the time of cleopatra, so olive oil would have been as frequently used in egypt by upper class egyptians as in rome.
what's royal jelly?
@xsPoNgEs_go_SQUISHx13@xanga - well it's true, and Cleopatra was greek so..
Royal jelly is the thin that the queen of bees eat.
I have heard nothing but good things about this product. However, I'll probably stick to my Vasaline. It's my cure-all.
I bought this just a few weeks ago and used it for 3 nights straight. I found that my face looked somewhat healthier, or brighter but it didn't have that "magic" effect like many reviews I have read. I still use it on random days, but I try and keep it away from my face now because it has recentely cleared up. It did however, reduce the appearance of some of my pimple scars, which was amazing! I started using it as a moisturizer for the rest of my body...at night only though. It really makes your skin so smooth :)
It would probably be a really good foot cream! :O
Those are some really good ingredients though.
I'm Egyptian.. and i've never heard of this stuff before. Ever.
sounds interesting.. too bad it didn't work out for you )=
maybe its a product ur skin has to really get used to? I remember when I was on retin-a for acne, my skin FREAKED OUT when I first started using it. I wanted to stop so bad, but my derm said to keep using the product bc it was purging my skin and it will get worse b4 it got better. And a few wks later, my skin looked awesome. Maybe this product is somewhat like that?
Or maybe its just the type of product where u really have to just use a tiny amount? Like 1/2 as much as what you think u need? The ingredients dont seem so "magical"...I know olive oil is great for the skin but the ingredients just seem natural, not magical.
There must be a way to create this product at home...
this stuff is quite expensive for the 6 ingredients it only has ..
@once_x2@xanga - ROFL good suggestion but i rather buy cheap foot cream at shopper drug mart
Dear Betsy...I appreciated your comments. I am hoping this post might help you with using the cream as you have raised excellent points.
I have been a user of Egyptian Magic Cream for many years. The secret to using the cream is to use a very, very tiny bit...truly tiny--far, far less than you think. For my face I only need a short pinky nail full of cream...or even less. The cream has wonderful ingredients in it and it is the bee propolis which heals our skin, as it is the ingredient which heals the bee hive when it is torn. The cream does not clog pores and if you only use an itsy bit, it will soak in....BUT this is not like most of the other creams we use. It is meant to stay on the skin via its chemistry.
It contains royal jelly, so with the combination of the olive oil, royal jelly, honey, bee propolis, bee pollen and beeswax, it would have a tendency to remain on the skin. I use it day and night and it does take time for acne to heal, but it does heal. It also is fantastic for knees, legs, arms, hands decollete, and heals..but again...this is not overnight. I love the cream so much that I now sell it. I get many letters from customers who love the cream; truly love it. I am very happy to answer any questions from people. I do it all the time with this cream--feel free to write ladykingel@nc.rr.com
I do hope this has helped you a bit.
Most respectfully submitted,
Lady Kingel
