What Kind of Engagement Ring Do You Want?
In case you are reading this, Tiffany's, Lovelyish does accept free samples and gifts :)
Have you thought about what kind of engagement ring you want? Type of diamond, cut, shape, white gold, yellow gold, platinum?
Also, we know this will happen regardless, so feel free to spam us with angry comments about how marriage is an obsolete institution, how diamonds are politically evil, how this question is dumb and sexist, or how fancy rings are materialistic and pointless. ;)

I have a gold one with a litlle "zicornium" on it. It's a "false diamond"
I love it.
(around 85 euros)
no clue actually - I know almost nothing about diamonds
I don't want one.
Keep it simple: round or princess cut, white gold band, the end. Maybe a few little details on the band or something but that's it, nothing gaudy here.
white gold and diamond, but i dont know the specifics. i guess if i see it, then i'l know. haha
I already had the engagement ring I wanted. I wish I still did... =(
something that my boyfriend picks out for me and knows i'll love. i don't really have a clue what i want, but he might. lol.
I want a princess cut, white gold or platinum band. No serious details on the sides, but a little design or small diamond accents. I really love this setting, though it would look better with a larger diamond.
i miss the one i had sometimes.... white gold and very simple please.
from tiffany and co, with a pretty classic look. i love princess cut and platinum/white gold. i love the three stone set up. but really i'm not expecting too much, the meaning overshadows the look of the ring too much to worry about it.
i definitely want it to be platinum setting and band, at least 6 carets (yeah i know aha) and i dont know i just like flashy rings but that doesnt mean i would say no if it wasnt !
Silver, with a curly q base, and a basic diamond. Dosent matter how many carets or cut it has.
@idontlikeyouanymore143@xanga - Wow. When you find a man willing to spend 3 million plus on a ring for you, I hope you don't let him go ;)
My engagement ring is a 3 1/2 carat princess cut with a platinum band. The wedding band itself is a ''wrap around'', also platinum with half carat diamonds on either side. My husband is amazing with jewelry =]
I don't really know much about diamonds and stuff. To be honest it's not something I would care about until I were to get engaged. But then I would want him to have a say really because that is part of it right? But i absolutely hate gold, so it better be silver! And not ugly, because I'll be wearing that thing everyday ya know.
=D
My ideal engagement ring would be something simple, maybe something he even made himself by twisting together pretty wires or twine. I'm not fond of expensive jewelry I think a nice polished stone and hemp piece is so much prettier than diamonds. I really feel that money spent on expensive pieces especially diamonds is money wasted. Diamonds lose a good deal of their value as soon as they are placed in a setting. I just can't get my logical mind around the idea of spending so much on one. I hope that if I ever marry he will keep the engagement thing simple and that he will be happy for us to use the simple plain gold bands that my father and mother wore as our wedding rings too. When a guy buys me diamonds I always feel like he is shallow and out of touch and I refuse the gift. I have trouble respecting men like that so I would never marry one.
Omg... I love the ring in the middle!
I would like something similar to that, but not too over the top or too extravagant. Something very simple yet beautiful at the same time.
i am enraged at this post, marriage is an obsolete institution, all diamonds are politically evil, this question is incredibly dumb and sexist, and all fancy rings are materialistic and pointless ;)
I'm not sure what I wan't- I'm not much of a person who wants expensive things because I end up losing/breaking it or something. I wanted a jade/emerald engagement ring, but apparently those things aren't as "engage-y" as the diamonds. Maybe a home-made one that my boyfriend made :)
I did find a $2 ring that looks EXACTLY like a diamond, and I wore it around on my engagement finger and scared my friends
I'm not sure.
I think I like a couple different kinds.
I like solitaires with white gold an I like the three stone ring with a differen kind of gem on the sides of the diamond, like a diamond in the middle and peridots on the side-or something. I much prefer white gold over any other metal for the band. I want at least a carat.
But of course these are ideals-not determining factors.
i'm not going to think about. that way, when i get one, whatever i get will be awesome.
emerald cut, platinum and shiny!!! hahah
something small and classic, white gold or platinum (just not yellow gold, it looks bad on me!), don't care what kind of cut. I'm not into huge and flashy, and as a bassist it's awfully hard to play well when you have a huge ring on your finger. But I do like rings. the center ring in the picture is my favorite (but still maybe a little big?). :)
a ring pop would be fine with me. hahaha. so ghetto!
Either a platinum or 14kt. white gold celtic engagement ring, with a karat diamond or my birthstone.
