Chewable Birth Control
There are gazillions of brands of birth control out there, but a new one has a certain feature that others don't: you can chew it.
For those of us tired of gulping down a BC pill every day or night, Femcon Fe can be crunched down like a carrot stick. It's also spearmint flavored, so it can do double duty as an Altoid in those bad breath situations.
The advantages are clear: you can pack your FemCon Fe with you and chew it on the train, at work, or anywhere. But wait...apparently if you chew it, you need to follow it with a glass of water anyway. What gives?
But if you're not good at swallowing pills, this might be the birth control option for you.
Would you start chewable birth control, or switch from what you currently use? Do you take birth control pills?

I... just don't see the point. I mean, birth control pills are pretty damn tiny so swallowing shouldn't be an issue... but who am I to judge.
I don't take birth control pills, but that's handy. I'm not a fan of swallowing pills, so that's something to look into in the future.
uh weird? ... is that ... like, supposed to be a good thing? it just seems ... sort of. .. unnecessary ....
I've been meaning to get on birth control for awhile now. I don't have problems swallowing pills though, since I've been taking a prescribed medicine for years now, so I'd probably stick with the pills you swallow since I know more about it.
I'm not on birth control, but I have no problem swallowing pills - even several at a time.
I suppose it would be good for people who do have issues with swallowing pills whole though.
I dont understand how anyone would have a problem swallowing the bc pill. I mean, its the tiniest pill i've ever seen. but idk thats just my take on it.
i'd stick with the normal pills, i feel more comfortable.
I dont see the point in it, birth control pils are extremly tiny in the first place so if u was to drink a glass of water u wont even be able to feel the damn thing go down so to me this whole chewing mess is really pointless.
As for me i am on a birth control but its stays in me for 5 years (mirena) so i dont have to worry about no pill every single day. i hate taken pills and i would have a hard time remembering to take it everyday on time so i had to go with something thats convient for me.
wow, first thing that popped into my head when I saw the title was kids that are young enough to CHEW pills should NOT need to be on the pill in the first place.
Personally, I think you should just man up and swallow the shit. It's freaking tiny. But whatev, I know there are people out there that have a hard time.
@katiwitz@xanga - Haha, agreed !!
I think this is a good idea....but not one I would fully trust to be 100% effective. What happens if you chew it at night and you wake up later realize half the pill is still stuck behind a tooth? That'd be a funny, yet sad way to find out you may have an oopsy. I take the pill, and I gotta say the fact that it's SO tiny makes it hard to swallow for me, generally I don't swallow big enough and it gets stuck in the back of my throat. LOL but that's just me.
honestly i'd rather have to swallow a tiny pill every day before i go to school than have the "luxury" of chewing a spearmint flavored chalk pill...but that is just me.
Those pills are SO tiny. I guess if you've got some kind of throat problem, it'd be more convenient, but otherwise, you could probably swallow it without water.
i'm holding back a snarky comment about kourtney kardashian.
I wouldn't mind taking these at all. In fact, It would be very beneficial for me. I have a problem swallowing pills, even birth control ones. Regardless of the size, the pill just won't go down. I have tried practically every trick in the book. It just won't work for me. I'd deffintely look into this product.
Birth control pills are tiny, how can anyone have issues swallowing it?
Now if they could just make a birth control pill that doesn't kill my sex drive and make me bloated!
Birth control pills = screwy hormones.
I don't know if I'd ever take them. The idea of being "in control" of my cycle is tempting, yes, but screwy hormones lead to messed-up pheromones which does bad things for relationships.
BC pills are pretty tiny soooo.. idk. another gimick? hahah
I don't even like swallow my birth control pills. I throw them down the back of my throat..that's how small they are.
I don't like chewing pills and I don't see why you would want to chew them when you could swallow them rather easier and quicker. And yes I do take them..
I don't use hormonal birth control. I use the Fertility Awareness Method....no hormones and it's easy!
I'm surprised that many people have a problem swallowing the birth control pill. It's what, 1/5 of the size of a tylenol? I am constantly afraid of dropping it because I think I won't be able to find it again! I take mine every day without any water. I can't imagine that chewing my BC would be too pleasant. But to each her own, I guess.
Whats the point of having a chewablr birth control pill if u have to drink water behinf it. I can understand if u have trouble swallowing pills, I use to have problems. Birth control pills are tiny. I can even swallow them.
I am using the patch, but this is sort of unnecessary, chew or swallow, either way you still have to take it but do you have to follow the exact time when you chew?
I dont take bc but I guess that girls that have sex and take bc would be kinda scared to switch to this because you might not be getting the full dosage of it if some of it is stuck in your teeth. And I think when it comes to bc, I dont think girls would want to take the risk of getting pregnant for the sake of not having to take a pill!
