Totally Tacky Theme Weddings
Most weddings are pretty straightforward: there's some aisle-walking, some cake-cutting, some Electric Sliding, and everybody goes home. But some couples aren't content with the simple white dress and chicken piccata, and decide to amp up the creative factor by having a theme wedding. Wise decision, or regrettable thirst for novelty? You be the judge with this trek through weddings that aren't all what they theme.
Star Trek Wedding (above)
Trekkie weddings are actually pretty common. Head to Vegas to do it up right: With this package at the Vegas Hilton, you can say "I do" in a model of the USS Enterprise, pick your 2 favorite Star Trek characters to appear and receive an "intergalactic bouquet and boutonniere," whatever that means. Keep an eye on your wife around those Klingons, though, Trekkie husbands.
Pirate Wedding
Arrrrrrrrrrre you ready to walk the plank and tie the knot? A Peter-Pan dressed ring bearer, plenty of sword-bearing groomsmen and a swashbuckling minister are all you need to have a pirate-themed nuptials. These folks in Key West are ready to be up to their eye patches in your wedding details. Shiver me ring fingers!
Superhero Wedding
If your husband-to-be is confident enough to pull of a pair of neon blue tights, consider a superhero ceremony. Wonder Woman can be the maid of honor, and how about a Batman best man? Host your soiree at Comic-Con and enjoy your lives fighting crime together.
Zombie Wedding
If you ever dreamed of being soaked in fake blood on your big day, a zombie wedding will fit all your macabre needs. Make sure the guests wear black and can perform the Thriller dance on cue.
Super Mario Wedding
So your boyfriend (or you!) is hooked on Mario Brothers, and you want to show your Nintendo love to the world. Done!

the trekkie one scares me...the pirate one is semi cute. out on a boat would really kick ass. superhero is stupid. mario is stupid (as much as i love and pwn at that game). zombie one would be fun and it semi goes along with halloween theme which is what my boyfriend and i have been talking about.

as cute as the cakes are.. i would die if i had anything but a traditional wedding. My parents would kill me first. Then probably the groom's parents. YAYYY!

Who cares so long as everyone is having fun??! I know I personally wouldn't want a themed wedding, but I think it is pretty awesome! If you're going to have one day dedicated to YOU and your hubby to be, why not do it the exact way you want?

idk it's their big day, who are we to say if themes are "wise" or not? some of them are cute. the point is to be happy. end of story.
personally i would love the star trek or pirate wedding. however i'd rather have star trek original series not next gen. MR SPOCK <3

those are funny themes. but i'd never have anything like that for my wedding. I want it to be traditional. :)
If I really wanted to and had the money to do it, and could totally go all out, I'd have a Lewis Carroll themed wedding. Maybe not necessarily as far as the ridiculous costumes like these, but more like the flowers, decorations, cake, table settings, etc.
i've always wanted a wild animal theme wedding! everyone's going to be wearing wild costumes and girls have to wear make ups that are really wild animal-like. hehehehehe but i'm not sure if whoever i'm going to invite would do that though. :/

@dictionary____dreams@xanga - pokemon would be amazing. Instead of having the ring in a typical box you could put it in a pokeball lololol.

The Mario cake is nothing less than amazing, hahaha. I wouldn't go crazy with a theme like these couples did, though.

i think these are awesome!! i can see how people would want their weddings to be unique. it's true that lots of weddings are "cookie cutter" or "standard" - it's nice to see something different for once!! altho i didn't do a themed wedding, my venue was inside a car museum which i thought would be entertaining and different for the guests! i got lots of compliments on how cool the venue was!!
LOL WTH, but the cakes sure are impressive!
i would want to stick with a classic but have the corpse bride cake XD i loooove tim burton!!
