Does the stereotype of men needing to look masculine prevent them from looking their best as well?
Will we be judging guys who wear make up because we think of it as a product used only by females?
Is it wrong for full grown men to wear say, a foundation so their skin looks smooth and glowing? How about some concealer to hide away those nasty breakouts we might have? Or, what if we wanted to emphasize our eyes with a little eyeliner?
Is it wrong for guys to wear these cosmetics based on what media perceives as acceptable and what's not?
Your mind will probably think that if a guy wears make up, they have to be gay, but why? Does someone wanting to look good, regardless of gender, instantly become judged and looked down upon?
Guys want to look good too. Maybe you'll think that only girls are the ones who are trying, but guys are too. We wake up early enough to get the perfect strands of hair up with gel, the right amount of shaving to be done, and the right outfit. What difference is it from a female? Why can't guys wear make up and be proud of it?!
What do you think? Is it wrong for guys to wear make up?

I think it's fine for guys to wear makeup. I just don't think it should be done the same way a girl wears makeup. It just doesn't look the same IMO. At least not on a daily bases. For fun, whatever. A little clear mascara and some face powder could do some guys good.
Whatever floats your boat. I don't think it would 'look gay' as long as it isn't overdone.
Uhm, no.
I like it when guys where eye-liner. lol
does this really have to be on mancouch, datingish, and lovelyish? for the third time, NO.
It's kinda like women... some guys just NEED to wear makeup and save as all the torment of seeing them without....
yes, it's wrong.
It's uncommon, so I have no opinion on it. The last time I had to wear makeup was for a perfomance, the eyeliner is supposed to make the lights glare less? Whatever.
For some reason, I feel that urge to say something about real men not wearing makeup. Seriously, stage work aside, the majority of the time, guys are wearing make up for the specific purpose of "being different" or some other form of shock value. When the sole purpose of anything you do is shock value, you're doing it wrong. And, frankly, the other end of the spectrum is that many women don't even need make up to look good. It's just one of those crazy things that has been accepted as fact.
Does it really matter? No. Should you push the envelope for the hell of it? No.
believe we have covered this umpteen million times. no
Nope, it's not wrong for guys to wear make-up. Whatever works for you, do it :)
yes, it is very VERY wrong for a man to wear make up. if he does, he's either (a) gay or (b) metrosexual. if you consider yourself a real man, you'd never in your life know the difference between mascara and eyeliner or even have the slightest clue what each product does. a lot of people may not agree with me, but i know one thing is for sure...i would never get caught dead with a man who wore makeup...ever.
its a product, for people with needs!!!!!!!!!!!!
well actors use makeup all the time so i dont think that its fair to say guys who wear make up are gross.. what so now all of a sudden Brad Pitt isnt hot because he wears foundation for his job? On the other hand if your wearing make up to look pretty or something along those lines...then thats a little concerning.. >.>
people keep assuming i wear eyeliner at times
@sunshinesasha@xanga -
mostly all of my boyfriends wear eyeliner, and they aren't gay, or bi so wtf?@sunshinesasha@xanga - what's wrong with a guy being gay or metrosexual? i mean, i would never want to be with a guy who wore makeup either (unless it's his job, e.g. he's an actor), but that is just personal preference, as i hate makeup and i, for one, don't really know the difference between mascara and eyeliner. if a guy wants to wear makeup, then fine. let him deal with all the pros and cons of it. he'll look good and feel good about his appearance but he'll deal with backlash from people like you who judge a person's gender and sexuality based on what they wear.
LOL @ that picture of Zefron.
Primping has nothing to do with your sexual orientation. I think it's fine for men to indulge in cosmetics, as long as it's not overdone. I mean hey, if he looks good, he looks good. <3
idk i still find it a little weird
In my opinion, the only time a guy should be wearing make up is on a stage or a set. There are ways that men look presentable without using makeup. I don't know about anyone else, but it would weird me out having to share the mirror with a man that needs to get his mascara on properly. Just... no.
@britt1511@xanga - well thats great...i'm happy for you. am i supposed to jump up and down with joy and completely change my perception on how i feel about men wearing makeup because of that? no. i already stated most people would disagree with me. i have my opinion and you have yours.
@black_lie@xanga - like i said before, people are going to disagree with me and i get that. but you have no right to judge me and say that i judge people for who they are based on what they wear. especially when you don't even know who i am. the only reason men do wear makeup is because they ARE gay or they want attention. movie stars wear it because they are "required" to wear it if they want to stay on the good side with the paparazzi. so in reality, you can't really compare movie stars' situation with the real world. and i never said that being gay or metrosexual was wrong. in fact, one of my best friends is gay. i was putting my opinion on what i felt that a real man (in my opinion and in my eyes) is like - and that real man doesn't wear makeup. everyone has different preferences and they put these postings on here to let everyone put their input on them. not everyone is going to sugarcoat everything like most people do. and i'm one of those people who don't. sorry you don't like it but i tell it how it is.
don't.
N@sunshinesasha@xanga - no offense,,,or take as much offense as you want, yer a smart mouth bitch, Jesus I was just saying my opinion too.
@sunshinesasha@xanga - well, i would just like to know what makes a gay man or a metrosexual man fake. and how come i don't have a right to say that you judge people based on what they wear, when you explicitly said that you think guys who wear makeup are not real men? i didn't judge you on that, i just quoted what you said.
well, if it's cover up, I guess it's okay. is that a MAC holiday collection brush that is being used on Zac Efron? oh my.
