Ideas I Hate: 10 Things I Hate About You, the Series

Bianca: There's a difference between like and love. Because, I like my Skechers, but I love my Prada backpack.
Chastity: But I love my Skechers.
Bianca: That's because you don't have a Prada backpack.

Allow me to rant lovelyish readers; I'm seeing red. Do you guys remember this movie? Yes, they are really making this into a series. Why? I really don't know. The film - which starred Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles- is a remake of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and it's awesome.
So how are they going to recreate the chemistry the original cast had as well as the stellar writing? Who thought this was a good idea? Larry Miller is reprising his role as Kat and Bianca’s dad but everyone else seems to be new.

I’m sure, if done right,this may be good but I have no intention of finding out. I prefer my shows old school; a 90210 with Brenda Walsh in it. I'm sure they’ll find an audience who enjoys it and I’m not knocking that. I am a HUGE Battlestar Galactica fan (RIP) and that’s a remake that many people were upset about. So if anyone watches it on July 7, let me know what you think.

To me, Heath Ledger = Patrick Verona.

I loved the film. I would never watch the series, it's just gonna ruin the movie.

@King_of_Fools@datingish - Ah yes thank you haha. I could have easily looked it up, but I havent watched the movie in a little while, besides my favorite scene randomly when I need it haha. Anyways I always just think of him as Wilson from 7th Heaven, haha.

I was so against watching the television program, but I gave in and watched it anyway. It paled in utter comparison to the movie (as I knew it would), but Gregory Peck's grandson makes the whole thing just a little bit better.

But overall, not into watching it again.

I loved that movie.
My mom pointed out once that Kat and I have a very alike personality. And she's probably right. Haha.
The series was pretty good. It wasn't as good as the movie - but no remake could possibly be as good as the original - but it was good. I liked it. I'll continue watching.

It's going to fail miserably. horrible actors minus Larry Miller reprising his role...love his character! I think the funniest part in the movie is when William flys off the hill on his bike and says "MY BALLS!" and then he finally lands and acts like he's ok and everyone claps for him then he turns around and his expression on his face. hahahahahaha. Absolutely looooooooooove this movie. always have and always will.

i just watched the movie 4 times in total because it was the only thing on tv this week apparantly.

it was good.

i hope the series does it justice, because i'm actually kind of excited. storylines, characters, and plots they couldn't fit into the 1 hr and a half movie, they can fit it all into a season long series. and it's good to see some new faces (: i'm interested in seeing how the fashion is different (because the movie WAS made in 1999; woah.. 10 years ago!). how they changed the music into something more modern, etc. and if it affects anything in the story.

I loved the movie (and Heath). I'm not happy about the series at all and do NOT plan to watch it.

its kinda obvious the series will be a flop..no one can make a better patrick than heath

Oh my goodness.... can't we let a great movie be a great movie without trying to turn it into a series? I felt that way about stargate. Not once did I watch any of those shows, I just liked the movie.

I loved the movie but I hate the series. I watched the series for the first time today and the characters in the series are nothing like in the movie. They should have just left it alone.

oh my god! i said the same thing when i heard about the show!
i'm soooo pissed off about that. it's a great movie, one of my favorites, but that show is going to make it suck.
whoever created the show should suffer.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES.

worst show known to mankind. I couldn't get through 10 mins of the first episode. I wanted to gag the whole time.

seriously the idea was horrific.

kill me if I ever watch a full episode
