Ideas I Hate: 10 Things I Hate About You, the Series

Bianca: There's a difference between like and love. Because, I like my Skechers, but I love my Prada backpack.
Chastity: But I love my Skechers.
Bianca: That's because you don't have a Prada backpack.

Allow me to rant lovelyish readers; I'm seeing red. Do you guys remember this movie? Yes, they are really making this into a series. Why? I really don't know. The film - which starred Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles- is a remake of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and it's awesome.
So how are they going to recreate the chemistry the original cast had as well as the stellar writing? Who thought this was a good idea? Larry Miller is reprising his role as Kat and Bianca’s dad but everyone else seems to be new.

I’m sure, if done right,this may be good but I have no intention of finding out. I prefer my shows old school; a 90210 with Brenda Walsh in it. I'm sure they’ll find an audience who enjoys it and I’m not knocking that. I am a HUGE Battlestar Galactica fan (RIP) and that’s a remake that many people were upset about. So if anyone watches it on July 7, let me know what you think.

Patrick: Hey there girly. How you doin'?
Kat Stratford: Sweating like a pig actually and yourself?
Patrick: Now there's a way to get a guy's attention huh?
Kat Stratford: My mission in life. But, obviously I struck your fancy so you see it worked. The world makes sense again.

To me, Heath Ledger = Patrick Verona.

The 10 Things series SUCKED. Everything was backwards. Instead of Cameron being the one to be the new kid, Bianca and Kat were. They moved from Ohio. So automatically, there's nothing going on between Kat and Joey. And then Chastity is the ringleader, not Biana, which is dumb. And Chastity is DATING Joey, who's starting(ish) quarterback for the football team, but wants to be a model, whereas in the movie, he's already a model, and quite content on not being anything else.
Oh, also, Kat's best friend Mandella? Instead of being a Shakespeare fiend, she's an artist, and instead of being really skinny, is deathy overweight and scared of Verona. Really? Fail.
And agreed, Heath Ledger was THE BEST Verona there could be. This new guy doesn't even have a sexy accent. -_-'
Very disappointing.

I "accidentally" watched it. I was watching "That 70's show" on ABCfamily and the commercial came on. I was horrified at first that they where making a tv show out of the movie. But then that Ethan Peck guy started saying stuff and I started drooling a bit. So i had to watch it. It was crap. It was the typical high school clique times 1000. Pretty sister wants to be popular and follows the head cheerleader like a mindless drone but has a hardcore sister who isn't a virgin that likes this badboy who rides a motercycles and goes to a crazy party all in the first week....i just can't get over his voice though...soo smexyyy

every quote was my favorite quote and i think the series is going to be a joke -.- why would you even try to do that?!?!? >.<Patrick isnt supposed to have a certain image to go with his badassness its just indicated in his character.... and Kat isnt supposed to be stylish.. infact her clothes are supposed to be completely unstylish because she chooses not to do anything the rest of the world is!! and here they make her wear these flashy clothes... it doesnt go.. like i said, this series is going to be a joke v.v

I LOVE that movie, its amazing. my favorite quote is the 'i hate you' poem.

I watched the premier of the series, and it was AWFUL! terrible. I personally hate the girls who are playing Bianca and Kat, they really aren't very good actors.

This is one of the few "teen chick flick" movies that I LOVE!! When I found out about ABC Family selling this film out I was pissed. First off, it's based from Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew", Shakespeare can be a movie, but not a series, mainly cause you'll run out of material in no time flat. Secondly, where's the creativity? Why do you have to take this fun (and some would even say 'classic') film and turn into evening trash TV?
I can only imagine it will be similar to the pregnant teenager show...whatever it's called, there's an award winner for you ::rolls eyes::

the series really isn't that bad.. although it's like they just ripped the movie off..taking the idea and all. i loved the movie <3 , but i really don't mind the series..it's something new/cool

I loved the movie, one of my top 5 favs. It was the movie that made Julia Stiles my favorite actress for the longest time. The commercials for the TV look stupid and I don't think I'll ever watch it. I just feel too old to watch a show about high school drama now, especially when it seems like a lame rip off.

So, I tend to judge things by their covers, image, pictures, etc. (sue me) ... and that ad does not look appealing in any way whatsoever!! lol Is that boy on the bike supposed to be Patrick?! Trying way too hard
