All the Buzz In Mascara: Vibrating Wand
Estee Lauder came out with a vibrating wand to apply mascara. It's called TurboLash. The wand is battery operated and is supposed to "do all the work for you". My first thought was, "There go my eyeballs!"
I poke my eye occasionally with a normal wand, a vibrating wand just seems dangerous and pointless. It's called moving the normal wand back and forth when applying! Are humans too lazy that they can't move their wand back and forth?
Would you buy a vibrating mascara wand?

I would probably accidentally stab that thing right through my eye or something... sooooo no.
Yeah, I'd buy one as long as it was a better vibrator than the one I have! HAH!
The vibration seems useless. Like vibrating razors or toothbrushes. What are they going to put vibrating motors in next, mouthwash?
what were they thinking? seriously. bad idea. this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. it makes me have horrible thoughts just thinking about applying this mascara. i'll pass.
I'm thinking of another use for it...@Mangonese@xanga - You beat me to it.
My sister has something like this bu it's not Estee Lauder. It's okay. Not an intense vibration. Just a little buzz sound, and enough to tickle your fingers.

i'd totally try it if it were free. i was thinking the same thing when i bought the Vibrance a while ago.. that i'd probably just hurt myself w/ it. but that turned out well [for the most part].
as for the lazyness question, sometimes i have random issues where i cant vibrate my mascara correctly. lol. it's odd.Bad idea. I can imagine hurt eyes and black mascra everywhere.
No, I wouldn't. I'm fine with my normal Shiseido mascara.
rofl.
Oh man.
I don't get how this sounds that dangerous. It just vibrates, it's not like they attached it to a fan to swing around.
Here's a test: hold your phone between your thumb and index finger and with your other hand quickly set the phone to vibrate and let go so you're only holding it with your thumb and index. Chances are, you're not going to lose control of a vibrating cell phone so you're probably not going to commit eye suicide using this mascara. Plus it looks like the brush is pretty thin so you're less likely to poke yourself and it's good for adding length. I'm intrigued but I'll admit I don't have the money to shell out for mascara.
I have a vibrating wand, but it would sure look funny using it on my eyelashes! *cough*
@methodElevated@xanga - lmao, that took me a couple of seconds to figure out
my sister had it. and she applied the mascara and it looked bad. frankly, mascara you can get at the drug store for ten dollars looks better, so no.
Lancome has the same thing in both undercoat (white) and the typical black and it works WONDERS... you only have to apply once. Plus, I love lancome mascara so much more<3
owh wow so kool another vibrator!
I saw one of these today but of a different brand. All I could think was WTF! Hahah
Ridiculous.
I just kept laughing when I heard about this ... they HAD to expect people to draw sexual inferences from it... and for the record, I will absolutely NOT try it. I hate the thought of putting things near my eyes - even regular mascara doesn't sit well with me, mostly. Vibrating wands ... just asking for it. Wow.
No. Scary!
honestly, i don't think it would be worth the money. you know they obviously have to hike up the prices just because they added a vibrating touch to it. how many people out there are seriously lazy enough to purchase it just so that they wouldnt have to swipe their hand up and down a couple times between their lashes? seems pretty pathetic to me. you could at least burn about two calories moving your arm...it wouldn't kill you. when i use mascara, i always end up somehow poking myself in the eye no matter how slowly or careful i am. and just thinking about using this makes my eye wince in pain. imagine putting the wand against your eyelashes and then suddenly your hand twitches out of nowhere and the vibrating brush gets into your eye. that seems to me like it would hurt a lot worse with a vibrating wand than just an actual regular wand. plus my eyelashes are sensitive to certain mascaras and just touching the tips of them sometimes causes soreness. so i'm pretty sure the vibrating wand wouldn't help in that department.
I have tried both the turbolash from EL and the oscillation from Lancome.
Lancome had this strong irritating rose scent where many customers were allergic to it and when it was applied on it was clumpy. I work at a cosmetic counter and many customers returned it (including me!).
Estee Lauder Turbolash was the better one of the two. It gave great definition and volume when you apply just one coat! But it didn't have an on/off button while it was out of the tube so my hands were numb after applying the mascara. After I finish this tube I probably won't repurchase again cause it's just too expensive. ($43 CAD)
I think maybelline came out with one that's around $20 CAD
so trueee !
what if you stab it in your own eye..
it's gonna still be vibrating isnt it?
greattt.
i'd rather sit on a massage chair and put on my mascara.
nopeee, I have a fully functioning hand that can move a mascara wand, thank you very much.
