What is the Obsession with Being Blonde?
I'm sure when you walk out into the street, 50% of the people you see are blond-haired, and another 90% of them are artificial blondes. What I mean by artificial blondes, are that these people chose to bleach/dye their hair into a tone of blond. A name they may be given are fake blondes or bottle blondes.
I'm not sure why someone would like to have peroxide and bleach cover their hair for hours on end to get that kind of an effect, but it's pretty weird to me. I mean, if you like blond hair, that's fine...but to an extent where you get dry and brittle hair...? That's a total turn-off.
So why do people want to have blonde hair?

I agree completely. Especially girls with beautiful dark manes, it's so unnecessary to damage that to have very light hair. And it never looks natural. I'm 17 now and I have never dyed my hair, and I am a natural blonde.
I think the point I'm trying to make is, simply: natural is beautiful. (How cliche, but true.)
i like blonde hair, but i won't dye it. because for an asian, i'll look VERY weird haha. Like i'm trying to act as a caucasian or something.. i dyed my hair brown before though.
@InTheThin@xanga - not necessarily, i think about the same amount of people go for blondes, or redheads, or brunettes, or other colors (i knew a guy with a thing for pink hair), or have no color preference.
Naturally, my hair is red. I've dyed it black, blonde, brown, purple(ish), blue and pink (big mistake!) and cherry red (the best!) and I didn't get any more or less male attention (the attention i got was usually just an I-like-your-hair thing)
Personally, I have no hankering what-so-ever for blondes, I lean towards the darker haired, but I've seen some good looking blondes (:

i don't think blonde girls are any cuter than non-blondes, but guys do, it's almost like they feel they're supposed to 'cuz of our stupid culture, whatever. i'm human and i have free will, i won't like something just 'cuz it's rare. personally, i don't usually find blond guys (especially when they have blue eyes, too) attractive. unless they're Tin Tin or Link from 'zelda' XD <3

@hann_ah_mazing@xanga - ah, exactly what I was thinking actually. I think there's more of an abundance in brunettes and stuff. I was always one of the only blondes in my classes, and I'm not exaggerating. EVERYONE at my school has dark hair. And it's usually dyed.
I'm a natural blonde, and have never touched the color. I don't think I ever will, until the grays come in, which I HOPE I won't obsess over ahaha
but yeah, brunettes and such are more abundant in my part of town.
@SamiiSaysHaii@xanga - Same. I love being able to say my hair is natural! I'd love that no matter what color it was naturally. It's a nice feeling. :] I'm glad someone agrees!
@hann_ah_mazing@xanga - I know ! People are SO surprised when I say that I'm natural. Some of the first questions that my friends ask are, "Is your hair naturally blonde ?" ahaha because most of my friends are ex-blondes and now have dark hair. I'm one of my friends only natural blondes. Feels good, feels good ;D
@SamiiSaysHaii@xanga - That's the first question I get pretty much anytime I meet someone! Haha. It's good to be one of the few friends with natural hair, period. Blonde or not! :]
I'm trying to grow out my natural black... I had died it brown months ago.
Blondes have more fun, sad to say but it's a fact. lol. I'm happy with my black hair though!
my little sister bleaches her hair blonde (its naturally dirty blonde) and although it looks FABULOUS on her, i would never think of dyeing my hair blonde. and she'd look a lot better with a beach-y natural blonde look. .. ie blake lively

I started dying my hair at 11 ...I was my mothers experiments ...
and now I have grown out my hair havent dyed it in two years
My husband likes black hair on me....
My mother like blond on me...
My sister likes red on me...

I just like my hair color.
Its a light brown.
Not a lot of ppl seem to go with the light brown so I like it.
I could care less if ppl dye their hair. ....this is like talking about what hair cut looks best
I have natural blonde hair, and i was desperate to not have it that way, i have been a fake brunette and a had black hair. Had it darker for almost two years. Most people thought i was a natural brunette haha, but i have since then gone back blonde because my parents hated when i made my hair black but my dad hated that i coloured it in the first place, so i had a LOT of bleach in my hair, to get it back to blonde and i also would love to know why anyone would want to become blonde. Its torture and it messes up your hair so much and even if your hair wasnt black before, it will still dry out your hair and damage it. After that process my hair was a nightmare... my hair is almost completely natural blonde now, and it took ages to just grow this far. So, i dont want my hair to be anything then what it is. lol
