What is the Obsession with Being Blonde?
I'm sure when you walk out into the street, 50% of the people you see are blond-haired, and another 90% of them are artificial blondes. What I mean by artificial blondes, are that these people chose to bleach/dye their hair into a tone of blond. A name they may be given are fake blondes or bottle blondes.
I'm not sure why someone would like to have peroxide and bleach cover their hair for hours on end to get that kind of an effect, but it's pretty weird to me. I mean, if you like blond hair, that's fine...but to an extent where you get dry and brittle hair...? That's a total turn-off.
So why do people want to have blonde hair?

I want blonde hair so my green and purple hair dye shows up better.
I die my hair lighter than its natural colour, which is a dirty blonde. You dont have to bleach your hair to make it blonde if its a light tone already (even light brown). I dye my hair all the time (random colours, ill throw some red in the bottom the majority of the time) and I dont have 1 split end. My hair is pretty soft as well, and i havent cut it in about 3 years.
I dunno, I dont think theres an over-load of blondes i think its pretty evened out.
hours on end. LOL. no wonder the hair is getting ruined!
It's considered sexy by many (although it's usually a huge turn-off for me), and people want to emulate celebrities (like Marilyn Monroe... who also dyed her hair blond).

I don't think there are that many blonds, fake or not. The whole blond thing will never, ever stop irritating me. Don't complain about fake blond hair. Complain about all dyed hair of any color, or don't complain about anything. It's all fake. Hate it all or hate none of it. It's really fucking irritating to those of us with naturally blond hair. Also, I'd say brunette or dark reds are more of the trend these days anyway.
(Most) Guys love blonds...I know it's a stereotype, but from all my 18 years of experience, it's true.
I love dark-haired girls, though. I think they look so much more sensual and classy; I just feel like blond hair is slightly less classy, more "hot" than "beautiful."
Because they find blonde hair to be attractive.
Eh. Personally, I would never want to be blonde, but if someone thinks that they look better with blonde hair, I don't see why they shouldn't dye their hair that color or keep it natural if blonde is their natural color.

I've got very dark hair naturally and it's currently platinum blonde, and my hair isn't dry or brittle? Obviously if you left bleach on your hair for hours on end you'd have a problem. But then you'd also have a nasty reaction to it and your hair would be destroyed beyond repair.
my natural color is blonde but i dye it blonde anyways for a more vibrant blonde.
ive tried red hair, black hair, and brown hair but i think this brighter shade of blonde just looks best on me. it looks really good with my skin tone and eye color.People worship blue eyes and blonde hair and sometimes they'd rather damage their hair or burden themselves with contacts to get them... I don't go in for that nonsense. I don't dye my hair at all. I prefer my healthy brown hair and my natural brown eyes.
blonde hair doesn't look good with dark skin. There I said it.
I look good as a blonde, and I find that I get hit on more so with it (and with red hair). I don't dye it to the point of damage, though. I'm not willing to wreck my hair just to look good.

Bleach doesn't ruin your hair if you get the right kind, and you only have to have it on for like half an hour. Have you ever dyed your hair? =S
People can do whatever they want with their hair.
Some people just like certain hair colours.
Idk, I always liked my brown hair.
No clue. The only reason I'd bleach my hair is so that I can dye it red.

I was a natural blonde for 19 years. But then I dyed it. I think it suits me better. Makes my blue eyes pop.
because blonde hair is rare in nature, and rarity is appealing.

i love blonde hair on either sex...for some reason i always love the blondes. :)
