Same Dress for 365 Days: Could You Do It?

Do you think you could wear the same dress 365 days in a row and still be fashionable?
Well, Sheena Matheikenone is taking on the challenge and for a good cause. On May 2009, Sheena pledged to wear one dress for one year as an exercise in sustainable fashion and dubbed it “The Uniform Project”. For the challenge, Sheena has seven identical dresses, one for each day of the week and every day she styles the dress with different layers and accessories.

“The Uniform Project" is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. At the end of the year, all contributions will go toward Akanksha’s school project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for slum children in India.”

I couldn't wear that dress one day and look stylish, so kudos to her.

@miz_shirley@xanga - how is it a hassle? same dress every day--we typically wear a completely different outfit every day--all she has to do is pile on accessories or a cardigan. calling is a hassle doesn't make any sense!
It's a good way of practicing her creativity, and I like the idea that it's going towards a cause. I don't think I would be able to do that for so long because I would get bored way too easily with the dress. Kudos to her for doing so though!

i agree it is really cool but its black which means its going to fade... so good luck making it look totally awesome in 6 months... but i guess gray works too?
I really don't think I would be able to do that, but this idea is just.. AWESOME! =]
You would have to be really inventive to make the same dress look different every day and people not think you are doing that but with enough accessories, shoes, belts, hats, and stuff i think i could be done. however even with a closet full of clothes i have a hard time putting together an outfit so i couldn't do that challenge but at least she's doing it for a good cause!:)

Well I don't think she'd have to necessarily come up with 365 different versions. I mean, she can recycle what she wore one day too. Just like we don't have a different outfit per day. So it's very possible. I think I would just get bored of my clothes, though.
I seriously don't think I could do that. I don't think I have the fashion creativity for that.
