  • Michael Jackson, King of Pop, Dies

     Michael Jackson: King of Pop

    Age 13

I'm sure you have all heard by now that Michael Jackson has passed away. Despite how eccentric he was and his personal life (personally I always thought he was innocent), he is an America icon not only in the music world (Thriller was on top of the charts for two years straight), but also in the eyes of fashion.

Even though he is no longer with us, we will never forget him. He had the drive and talent in the business that so many people lack these days.  This is my tribute to the King of Pop.

    Michael Jackson: King of Pop

"considered for years as the single highest selling album"

    Michael Jackson: King of Pop

What did you think of the King of Pop? Did you like his music? Did his style catch your eye? What sort of impact do you think he has and will continue to make in past, current, and future generations?

    RIP.

I have so many childhood memories associated with Michael Jackson songs... a piece of my childhood is dead : (

Condolences to his and Farrah Fawcett's family and friends.

your moon walk will always be remembered in my heart

I LOVE Michael Jackson. And I will still listen to his music, because it's great. I don't know if he did or didn't molest that kid, he was more than likely innocent, and that family was just trying to whore off of his money with false accusations. I don't care.

He shouldn't have gone with extortion, that was the iffy part in all of it.Again, I could care less. The man had some damn good music and even though Thriller was out in '82 and I was born in '91, when I got that CD .. I was a happy girl. :)

I'm pretty upset about the news. He was one of the greatest, no doubt. May he rest in peace.

this is such a sadddd thing to happen. he was continually bombarded by jokes and criticism and hatred by so many people around the world. Its heartbreaking to know that the last several yrs of his life were filled with turmoil, sadness, and hardship.

he was such a gentle, kind and loving human being. he really meant no harm to anyone and he was DEVOTED to his fans. even after his HUGE success with thriller he NEVER got big headed or full of himself....he even went as far to try and work harder after this and try to beat his own record...which he never achieved. but regardless still the BEST thing that has ever happened in the music industry. He devoted his life to his art. The difference between him and any other musician is that it was so NATURAL to him...he def was ONE OF A KIND. noone like him will never ever come around.

my children will def. know who he is and will grow up listening to his songs. I love all his music and dancing...and eveyrthing he represented. He broke alot of social barriers and he tried so hard to make a difference.

I love him and he will be missed. I cannot believe he died. rest in peace MJ. :)

I felt bad for the dude. I wasn't familiar with his music but I knew who he was. Whether he did those things or not should not have been the business of the general public. But that's what happens in the world. I mean for fucks sake look at Jon and Kate. Their personal life is on the cover of almost every women's magazine. If he did it, then he should have just gotten in trouble privately, or if he didn't then it should really have never hit the frickin media.

I'm sure he was a great guy. He wasn't loved by so many people for no reason. He was definitely spectacular in some regard.

I'll miss him. I knew thriller. :) That music vid was tight too.

Farrah Fawcett also died. I feel like she should be RECOGNIZED too.

  • TINYTROUBLE@xanga

You weren't able to live in peace M.J. so I hope you can rest in peace.

  • thunder_kwan@xanga

RIP.hes not my generation and i dun like his
type of music and honestly i dun reali approve of him as a
person(plastic surgeries stemed from the denial of self-identification).

  • BangingTheBarber@xanga

I'm more of a rocker chick so his type of music never appealed to me besides his song "dirty diana" I think its sad for the loss I feel horrible for his children and family. I will say through all the controversy surrounding him he set the bar high for upcoming pop artists.

I loved him my entire life. And he impacted SO many people.
His style was amazing, His dancing so great, His Singing Phenomenal!

    R.I.P. Michael. I love you

  • turnyalightsdownlow@xanga

i think it's awful how the past 10 years his greatness has been over shadowed by lies and cruel jokes. he'll be sadly missed + he and his family are in my prayers

  • Persianchaka@xanga

    RIP buddy v v.

Personally I  think that Micheal Jackson is possibly the most Bad Ass guy I have ever heard of (fashion and music both included) , and I felt so sad when he died. As for the accusations... I dunno about them, I always remain unsure about those things. :\

  • Persianchaka@xanga

@crissy - ME TOO!! she wasnt on the news at all!! only like on the bottom lines... i was so sad that she died too :(

  • salala_curie@xanga

    im not a big fan

but i reli miss him.. RIP
  • Unrequitedx@xanga

Though I've known people that hated him, I always respected Michael Jackson. I thought his music was amazing, and that he is the only one that can actually be throned as the King of Pop. Though I haven't listened to his music on a frequent basis, whenever I listened to it in books stores or restaurants, it was always a mood up-per :)
I hope his musical style will make a bigger impact (and it already has) into the next generations of music, but we all know it would never be the same. No one would ever be able to replace this man. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson.
