Shopping now is a great idea because of all the savings. My tip is not to save money on designer stuff (because you'll still end up paying quite a lot) but to go to the cheaper stores for some serious bargains! I got a pair of skinny jeans for $10!
SALES!!!! Many people are now having sales. I get my fav kinds of sunglasses from WetSeal for $3! They also have cute shirts for $5. Mad cute earrings 2 for $6!
If you look hard enough, you can find a lot of great things from Goodwill! I got some brandnew clothes with the tags on for $2 an item!
Forever 21 + Kohls + Urban Outfitter's clearance rack
kohls all the way.
cheap and cute.(:
There's a store called Fashion Cents and nothing is over $40.00(including jeans). I'm always shopping there and other stores like DEBS, Wet Seal, Forever 21, and Express. But I mostly shop when there's a sale.
I like that frozenfire55608 suggested thrift stores. Seriously, find a good one, and check it out. They're amazing sometimes.
Otherwise, what I do to NOT spend any money is I go through my old clothes. I only get rid of stuff when I'm ABSOLUTELY sure I will never wear it again. So, I have a lot of stuff from years past stored in space saver bags, I find new ways to put things together or I remember how great some things I stopped wearing were, and I wear them again.
Besides, fashion is ALWAYS bringing looks and styles back. My friends and I have joked that any day now, Gap will decide it's "bringing back" the undershirt, haha.
sales! :)
I've not had to change my spending habits because I've always been thrifty. I never buy anything full price (bags and jewellery excluded), and only buy things if I know I'm going to wear it more than five times and I'm going to be able to wear it in two years time; ie good quality, classic items.
Sales, coupons, and buying things out of season.
who says I'm saving?
Macy's. I'm not sure if it's because she's got an account, but she gets a ton of coupons that she can use together- these can make a $30 cardigan $15 or less.
I get most of my clothes at Salvation Army and Goodwill. If you think about it, the only people who can donate *are* the wealthy, and so they'll have nice clothing.
Recently I got two Express pencil skirts from Salvation Army with tags intact for $4 each. When I got home, as I was taking the tag off I saw that they were $78 each.
Another time I got a pair of jeans that were 7 For All Mankind with a tag for $120 for only $7.
Also, I shop on Ebay a lot and clearance, clearance, clearance!
Ebay, Primark, hand-downs and sales! (:
Look for consignment shops in your city. They're a little nicer than Goodwill, but still with bargain prices. I LOVE designer jeans, but I refuse to pay retail. These kinds of stores are great to look at for quality clothes at fantastic prices. Just do a google search to find what's in your area.
SALES and coupon codes. =)
shop for the things you really really need; one that's a great investment and can match with every other pair of outfit you have :)

I've become addicted to shopping Forever 21 online. My friends and I will put a big order together so the shipping is free and we don't have to spend a lot of money to get a few outfits! :D
if it's not on sale, it doesnt exist :P
Ross and Marshall's.
thrift shops and sales :)
Forever 21 actually has much cuter clothes then they used too, and it's cheap!
My big money saver is shopping at American Apparel. I knoooow that the prices for items are pretty high. BUT. You only have to buy a few items, in solid colors, and you can mix and match and wear them tons of different ways! Then go to thrift stores, garage sales, etc to pick up cool, cheap things to accessorize with.ÂSales.. clearance racks.. coupons.. shopping at stores like Hollister, AE, Abercrombie, RUEHL, and Guess... but not OVERbuying. Keep things at the minimum.
I mostly buy clothes around the 4th of July and during Thanksgiving for extra and AMAZING savings. And plus, I buy the things that I need, not WANT.
i look for things that are on sale. when you do that, you can buy unique looking shirts for atleast $5 plus the accessories for even cheaper to make your style more awesome.
forever 21, wet seal, kohl's, charlotte russe, deb, thrift stores... cheap & awesome.
