There's an unbelievable rage about mineral makeup and as an enthusiast, I've been on a hunt for the best ones. Unfortunately, here in the Philippines, we have a limited range available in the market/drugstores. And so, being left with a few choices (like Max Factor, L'Oreal, Cover Girl, Revlon, Elf), I was really careful that I choose what product to spend my money on. It's a challenge but the challenge has ended because I've found my partner to good, healthy glowing skin!! :)
Here are some of the benefits that I enjoy from using this product:
1. It hides my acne scars. I've suffered acne for years and it's just recently that I've cleared my skin up. The acne scars left are a painful reminder of my "past" that I want to forget. Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral Powder does this job perfectly! It hides my imperfections without trying to make it look like I made too much effort. And I didn't! It was easy as one, two, three. It glided on my skin perfectly. I guess part of the trick is finding the right shade.
2.
Redness cover up. A bit of the medicines my dermatologist gave me cause redness. But as soon as I use Maybelline Mineral makeup, my face appears glowing and even; redness all gone!
3.
Oily skin is controlled. Sadly, I have very oily skin, reason why I am acne prone. And so, it's hard for me to choose a makeup that suits my skin type because oils keep resurfacing after just a few hours. Let me tell you, ladies, this makeup helped solve this particular problem of mine. It lasts longer on my face AND the oil level is controlled. I'm not sure why that happens but hey, I saw the results!
4.
Spectacular finish. I've used regular liquid foundation, pressed powders, mineral powder, and whatnot. At first, it would look flawless and I feel like royalty. But after a few hours, it looks awful on my face. I've used techniques that others say would help in perfecting laying the foundation. Still, it would look either cakey or too powdery. I like my face to look not oily but not like I just put on a whole bottle of loose powder. Maybelline, I must say, has been wonderful in achieving that look. I have a dewy look, and after a few hours, my face still looks smashing!
5.
My skin feels and looks healthy. And it is healthy! Because by breakouts have been lesser. Maybe because I know my skin can breathe from Maybelline's Clear Smooth Mineral Powder. There are no more unwanted buildups cause by foundation stuck in my pores.
To sum it all up, I'm so in love with this makeup that I don't think I'll ever change my mineral makeup. Ever!!
How about you? Have you tried Maybelline's Clear Smooth Mineral Powder? How do you like it? What are your other favorite mineral foundations/powders?

Nice review! I'm currently using Loreal True Match Mineral Powder. I'm pretty satisfied with it but its just that the brush is too harsh on the the skin.
I should definitely try Maybelline Mineral Powder after this.
I like the Cover Girl True Blend Mineral Power Compact..very good and luminous! =)
I use the same thing. It works wonderfully and is inexpensive :) Good review.
Now I wanna try it!!! ;)
I use Lasting FINISH - Rimmel London n' I love it!
Although, after this post I so wanna the product u use!
Thx
great review. i've used many powders before and almost everyone one of them have broken me out or i have not found anything that could match my olive skin color. it either turns out too light or too dark onto my skin. i actually use clinique foundation in vanilla. although its not exactly the right color, its close enough and i'm not allergic to it so far. i actually have not tried maybelline clear smooth mineral powder and after reading the review, i might pick this item up.
I use this Maybelline powder too. I like it, but I find it emphasises my dry patches rather horribly on my nose and forehead, so I try and avoid these bits. It does help my skin look soft and glow though, so overall I like it :) Nothing like feeling natural while wearing makeup!
@lil_squirrel4ever@xanga - I've tried the Cover Girl TruBlend Minerals but the Loose Mineral Powder one. And it's awful. ugh! I just look like I dipped my face on a bunch of glitters! T.T
@MissSmartHottie@xanga - I've heard a lot of good reviews for that same product but sadly, we don't have it here in the Philippines. And I'm scared of online shopping. lol. ^.^ I guess I'll have to ask my sister who's there to buy me one ^.^
@Sugar_Sassy@xanga - I know! I can't believe how soft my skin looks with this powder. Every one of my friends notice that I look much healthier and more glowing than before :) I <3 Maybelline :)
do you guys have bare mineral there? im using it and its pretty good.
I like it and reviewed it too. The kabuki was a waste of time.
I can see why you love it. I liked it too at first, but it broke me out and made me orange! It also dried my oily skin out, which was uncommon. So I switched to Rimmel Stay Matte. But the brush for it the Maybelline is terrible.
@mixxignalx@xanga - we don't have bareminerals. none that I know of, anyway. :)
I ube rlove this^.^ I've rarely had breakouts with this (those rare occasions come with the hormones and lack of adequate rest)
and no allergic reactions for me=)
i have this, but its a shade too dark i dunno why but for some reason i have a really hard time finding my right match with these foundations. i can't keep opening, testing, and returning :P i would love it if i could find my match lol cause the coverage is good (but not w/ the brush they give you.. that thing is useless!) and smooth. alas, my face looks too tan so i hafta apply it lightly
@mixxignalx@xanga - I'm also rocking the L'oreal bareminerals. It's great because it's so buildable and lightweight too.
i always want a cheaper version of mineral powder.
guess have to try this - after my bare mineral =]
Wow. You've convinced me to try this stuff!
I use that stuff too, it is wonderful :)
I always use a liquid, but I've wanted to try this. I guess I'll have to get some.
I've heard that some ppl with acne prone/oily skin can have bad results when using mineral make up. Some ppl say that when they use mineral make up, it makes their skin even worst. Instead of covering up their acne or scars, they actually got MORE acne. So I'm guessing.....mineral is not for everyone?! Make work perfectly fine on you but maybe not for others??
i got the same thing! i picked it up because i was looking for a powder for occassional touchups because i dont wear foundation or concealer, and i decided to try something mineral. &it had a free brush haha :] it really does look very natural, conceals everything, and doesn't stifle my skin :)
@ladylana@xanga -
actually i was talking about bare mineral from bare essentials? i dont know if you heard of it... works great on my skin
@mixxignalx@xanga - Oh sorry! Yes I've heard of that one. I have their blush in laughter.
