Sometimes You Just Have to Rip Your Dress Open!

Girls, girls, girls, don’t flaunt it. By flaunt it I mean barring your ass-ets, or acting the helpless fool. Any attractive female can turn heads using those cheap tricks. I want my two physically beautiful girls to have the confidence not to resort to those desperate tactics. I want them to know true beauty is always discovered without being “that girl.”
Here’s an example of what I wouldn't’t want them to do. I wouldn't’t want them to show up to a singing contest in a minimal bikini, and stand like a bimbo in front of the judges blathering in a 3 year old’s speaking voice about her own talent surpassing someone far better than herself.
I would want them to show up to that singing contest dressed with class letting their voice and personality speak for themselves. Now having said that I’ll be the first to admit there are times when a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do... even if that means ripping your dress open!
Kara you rock!
How do you feel about dressing a certain way to get attention? How do you react to others doing it? Do you do it yourself?

Eh, sometimes it's uncomfortable. Who knows who/what is staring at you?
It's possible to look hot without being revealing.
I think it's skank-y if you show too much, but a little cleavage wouldn't hurt at times. :c
Oh... we all have our fetishes
i did one time. it was last summer and i was dating my bf at the time. his ex girlfriend was there too at his friends beach house and she always talk about me behind my back to the other girls of how short i was, how petite i was, how asian i was and how much i like to cover up. i was so pissed because i already told my bf that i didn't want her there but she was also friends with his friends too so she came. so i understand, she's tall and she's thin but that didn't matter to me because even though i'm asian and petite, i had boobs and a butt. while they were sitting on the beach, i whipped out my most sexiest bikini that i purchased from victoria's secret out and wore that walking to the beach. i have to admit, there were a lot of heads turning to watch me and then i sat right on my bf's lap and i just saw her jaw drop. she was so pissed because she's never seen me wear anything like that before. it felt good to have eyes follow me and see her jaw drop plus the object of her affection was with me.
only in front of my boyfriend. haha.
I did when I was younger, but then I got over it. For me it was more of a response to not having my dad pick out my clothes for me.
@mewithoutu77@xanga - hahaha =] The girl sounds a bit pathetic. But go you!
When I was in the earlier years of high school, I thoguht that the less you wore, the hotter (not that I ever dressed in such ways). However, now I think it's better to wear more, just depends on how. =]
I think sexiness is being attractive without showing the most amount of skin. It's just tacky getting attention that way.
"that girl" is stupid.
wtf?! american idol.... in a bikini? mega stupid.Ugh I couldn't stand that girl!!!
she looks kind of cute
Can you imagine her as an American Idol? Um...no.
@mewithoutu77@xanga - Haha good for you. =)
girls who dress like that like getting the attention
hell I could dress like that and get every guy's attention... but I do not have that personality. It all depends on how you want to be perceived I guess.
Sometimes I do dress to get attention, but it's nothing too revealing because I'm somewhat modest (ex. I'll never wear a bikini). First and foremost, my motivation for dressing up is simply to look good for myself and maybe to get some pictures of my outfits taken. Impressing others is optional.
@mewithoutu77@xanga - good move.
I dress up to make myself feel better. If I get attention for it, it's a bit awkward, but in the end, I'm the reassurance, not other people.
I can't even comment on that American Idol faux pas. It hurts me too much.
If that's all you got...
Wouldn't’t?
I don't feel comfortable in dresses let alone revealing clothes. Haha I stick to tshirts and jeans (or shorts).
i dont think its positive attention when girls dress in such a revealing way. There are times and places where being sexy is appropriate. but other times/ places its not. they just have to figure out the difference.
then again.. i agree w/ "whynotrye".. if thats all you got.. then... i guess.. thats all you got.. lol
I dress to get attention at times, but not by baring everything. I accentuate rather than expose. Sometimes I just like to dress for me... but it gets me attention anyway.
i saw this show, she was annoying. Constantly hitting on simon just to get in!...ahhh too desperate for attention. Some girls dont even have to try as hard as her, they just need a beautiful voice to get in!
This wasnt some bimbo show, it was american idol which is not concerned about what color bikini you wear. If u sing well you're in if u dont you're out. Too bad it dint work for her no matter how hard she tried!
If I did that, I'd feel like a whore, and I usually call someone who does it a whore. Occassionally I like to be a bit more bare-skinned than modest, but I would never let all my asses hang out.
Getting that kind of attention would make me pretty uncomfortable, but if someone else feels confident enough to dress that way, that's great.
