"DIY" Lash Extension
If you are lazy to put on fake lashes every time or layers of mascara, lash extension is definitely a great friend of yours to make your eyes look awesome. This was done by Vivian in January.
I happened to see Madame Madeline's site and realized that it's possible to do a semi-permanent lash extension myself. Unless you want it to be done perfectly nice, just find a professional one. I just want to try it out myself. (I'm not so picky).
I went to nearby local drugstore to get Ardell Duralash in Flare Medium Black, Lashfree Remover and Lashtite Adhesive in Dark. Total costs damage? Around $25.A nice lash extension service costs from $60 to $120 and if you dislike it, you will have to pay another $10 to $20 for removal service. They have top quality lashes from Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Everything is about money.
Also, a good lash extension done by the professional using top grade medical adhesive can last up to 3 months with your proper care too. Yes, you need to have "perseverance" proper care. Sounds like a big deal!
As a first timer, I did not expect it to be nice or simple. I was just treating it as a trial. I prepared my own tweezers and a plastic card for the adhesive. (Put a drop of adhesive on it). I used the video below as a tutorial guide. It was wonderful help!
The whole procedure was not really hard and not much hassle. Just about 10-12 individual lashes for each eye should be enough. See below! A natural looking 10mm lashes (about 10 individual lashes).
The adhesive and lashes are durable to last up to 4-6 weeks. Though they are waterproof, adhesive weakens if in contact with oily substances. It is normal if your lashes come off after a while as lashes shed every 2 to 6 weeks (found it somewhere on the web). Practice makes perfect; you may need to try a few times to get used to it.
Now, say bye to my mascara. I never knew doing eyelash extension could be easy.
PS: I'm so vain!

uhh... that's way to close to the eyeball...
Hmm, I've tried false lashes before, for prom, but I didn't really know how to do it and just winged it at the very last minute. Yeah, the end of it was poking my eye all night. But this looks pretty straightforward, I might just try it =)
It doesnt last nearly as long as it claims. In my experience, I had to touch it up almost daily because one or two would fall out every day. Sure looks natural though :)
Whoa that's cool. But I wouldn't want individual lashes falling off on one side.
Ehh my eyes are very sensitive >.>
But it does look very nice :)
I'd love to try these 'lash extension' thing, but I don't want em to fall off!!
I'm lucky I'm brown. We have long eyelashes by default. =D
hmm i don't understand how this is lash extension...
i mean.. when u remove ur make-up at the end of day
they will still come off wouldn't they???
im confusssssed... @.@
wow those look really nice and natural- but damn that's that time consuming process! i can't even get my lazy self to put on a single pair of falsies, much less a whole row of individual ones @_@
I still prefer false lashes. It's shocking when girls just put them on and have very pretty eyes for a night.
Cool, maybe i'll try this one day!
CM ...
This is very interesting. May touch up anytime you want. Hrmph will try to look around for it.
i rather use mascara better :]
You leave these on overnight? Aren't you supposed to take off fake lashes every day?
Are you wearing circle lens?
bc if you are, what type are they :P?
i already do too much to my eyes..
i think i'd be abusing them if i put extensions on T_T
hey, i used those this morning! they come off with makeup remover though.
@imyourstargirl@xanga - Yeah I wonder why Indians usually have huge eyes, big eyelashes, and body hair while Asians have small eyes, no eyelashes, and no body hair?
This was really informative, I may try it.
@nexthorizon@xanga - Well, the body hair ain't fun. That's for sure. So maybe it's an alright compromise. (:
@imyourstargirl@xanga - Lol. I like being asian! So many guys with asian fetishes..... ._.
hmm i must try this one day.
@ivywithu@xanga - They didnt drop off for my case as long as you are using oil-free make up remover and also a facial sponge for cleansing. Direct contact with water will affect the lash condition so i always use facial sponge and just a little of water to wash my lashes.
@miss_prettyinpink@xanga - Yes, i leave them on. If I use false lashes, I will remove them too.
@FallenOuttaPlace@xanga - For the first picture, I am using Geo Angel Grey lens. Same here, I am also abusing my eyes but doing some gentle massage around the eyes daily will help a little.
@AnchorsAway_Lays@xanga - I use makeup remover wipes and avoid the touching the lashes. Using water to clean the lashes gently is fine.

I totally want to try doing this myself now!
it's much easier to do with non-permanent lashes in a row me think
