What Do I Wear with this Prom Dress?
Prom is just around the corner and this is my prom dress but in royal purple. I have no idea what to do with my hair, what kind of shoes I should wear and what accessories to sport.
Your ideas and opinions would be very much appreciated. ( :

Silver shoes & silver bracelets/earrings?
Elbow length gloves. My friend ordered some in a custom color; I'll try to find the site if you're interested. Amethyst and diamond jewelry would look nice with the color as well. To find a hairstyle for my prom, I just looked around on hair product websites until I found one that I liked. I ended up deciding on soft, loose curl.
What would you wear with a yellow dress?
wow it's a bit short for what a european can imagine as prom dress (we haven't got this kind of parties in France, and on TV shows, people are always wearing big dresses ^^).
The dress is nice. If I had to wear it, I will shoes nice little shoes like escarpins maybe in satin. If my hair is short, just try to make it dynamic with maybe a nice hair grip, or a thin headban with a small feather (to get a Charleston 30s effect : retro).
And if I have long hair, a kind of french pleat/ chignon (don't know the right word) but a "savage" one(not ballerina one !), with some curly locks falling for example.
And a nice necklace, a silver chain with a very little pendant like a rubis, diamant or saphir imitation (or a true one if you have ^^)
(I really hope that one day we'll have prom balls in France !!!)
Gold heels and gold earrings... gold looks great with royal purple.
tease the hair and make it big. put it long curly extensions, and curl your hair. top it off with a tiara. lace gloves.
Silver Strappy Heels & a cute matching purse. Get an updo with spiral curls, maybe some hair glitter. Matching dreamy style makeup. Gorgeous dress you picked!
Simple and elegant, or complicated and "glam?"
Basics, first. I think silver shoes would to with royal purple well. Try for a 2.5 inch heel, if if you're comfortable witht hat. I find that only a few people can get away with wearing short heels without looking stocky or out of place with an elegant dress. Anyway, you can try curling your hair and letting all of it hang loose, or tying it up. I'm not a huge fan of half up half down styles, even though they do look nice. I think it's just because an all-up or all-down hair-do makes the even feel less casual. Long, silver dangling earrings might also work with this outfit, as well.
If you're going with the simple version, you might just wear a simple pendant necklace with a silver chain. Maybe none at all. If you want tons of accessories, add some bracelets, a necklace - maybe double up! - and some hair accessories. Of course, I'm not saying you should toss anything and everything on.

I'd do long earrings, curled hair, silver shoes, or you could do black since you're dress is royal purple. A thin necklace, nothing too fancy/ big.

with a short dress, i love those shoes that wrapp around your ankles, that would look hot. I think you try maybe some silver color shoes? I think if you did a curly side ponytail with be cute. Oh yeah a pearl bracelet sounds cute with it tooo.

Pastel or light colored shoes. The black shoes kinda clash with the soft lavender color.

You should get some zebra shoes with some matching zebra accessories.
oh and another hint.
get your makeup done by mac because a royal purple dress would go great with a highly pigmented color.
A top for the dress?
Lovely dress, I was just looking at that very same dress in the Jessica McClintock in Valley Fair. You should have your hair in an updo for a more elegant feel. Then have 3 inch silver heels and a simple necklace and diamond stud earring, or for a more edgy feel get cornrows and get your makeup done by urban decay, Glitter makes everything beautiful!

I adore how people are commenting on how the dress is too short. (: I actually prefer short dresses to long ones. You picked a stunning dress for prom. Can't go wrong with royal purple.

i just went to my prom and some of the best hair styles were the ones that were back in low pony tails, teased at the top, and curled at the bottom
