I Need Foundation Help!
I've been using Shu Uemura Face Architect Smoothing Liquid Foundation for the past year and I have recently run out of my latest bottle. I live in New York City so there isn't a Shu Uemura store and the only place where I can buy this is all the way uptown at Bergdorf Goodman, which is way too far and I am too busy to make the trip.
So, I need help finding a new foundation similar to this one that is either available at a Sephora or an Ulta or even a Mac store. Shu Uemura isn't such a popular brand in America, so I need help finding a new brand that is easy to find in a chain store.
I've used Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation before, and it made me break out a lot and it didn't give me as much coverage as Shu Uemura. I don't want to try a drug store brand mostly because I have come to find that they aren't as hydrating as a high-end brand and tend to cake and flake.
So basically I am looking for a liquid foundation that gives medium semi-matte or matte coverage for combination skin (dry/oily). Please, help a girl out and give me some suggestions. :)

Clinique.
Makeup Forever Velvet Matte.
This is drugstore so I don't know if it's similar, but I'm happy with it... Maybelline Mineral Wear... liquid but it comes in an easy to use bottle and keeps my face looking oil-free, which I deeply appreciate, and doesn't make me break out...
MAC Studio Sculpt. It's new and very hydrating.
I'm not sure about NYC, but in CA you can find Shu Uemura counter in almost every Nordstrom.
Chanel professional finish.
Amazing - i use the powder too, it's flaawless.
Around £30
i love Chanel products, but im currently using Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation. its pretty good for combination skin.
Clinique, the perfect one is to ask them for advice, they're always happy to help you find the perfect foundation suitable for your skin, and other skincare. =)

While I agree that cheap make-up 9especially foundation) is exactly that cheap, not all make-up that comes from non high-end stores are cheap so it's rude and wring of you to make such assumptions as you have never tried them all.
Clinique! I have used Clinique foundation and powder religiously since I was 12 years old.... I have similar skin, and I either use perfectly real or superbalanced foundation, depending on the season....if you have a cooler undertone to your skin, these are definitely perfect....there newer foundation that just came out has similar coverage for combo skin but is based on a warmer skin undertone...
Sally Hansen Airbrush Spray foundation is awesome. It's all natural & good for all skin types. I tried it & I love it. It's about $14 in store but it works well! They have a shade for everyone, but if you're inbetween shades (like me) go for the darker one. It's easier to fake a bronzy look than ashy.

i agree with most people: MUFE is good, clinique is also a fave for many people, and Laura Mercier is not bad..but I like the SHu Uemura finish as well~*
DIORSKIN NUDE
or
LAURA MERCIER SILK CREME FOUNDATION
seriously you will love them!
Makeup Forever's HD Foundation is really nice. I wouldn't recommend it if you're on the more oily side though. It gives a nice healthy natural finish. You can get Makeup Forever @ Sephora. Just ask for a sample to take home so you can try it out before buying. Their Matte Velvet + foundation is nice too but only if you're on the more oily side. It really keeps you matte. I used it for a couple months, but it broke me out.
clinique whitening.
this is a ds brand, but i use maybelline's dream liquid mousse..it gives you such an airbrushed finish. but i tihnk with any foundation, its always good to get a primer.
MACs new foundation...I'm pretty sure it's called Studio Sculpt will probably work for you. Or Clinque's Perfectly Real liquid foundation if you want a light coverage, but I find that it's not good for oily skin.
I recently bought Covergirl Trublend liquid foundation, and I really like it. That`s coming from a girl who doesn`t use foundation on a daily basis. I only used it twice so far, for formal situations, but even then I still recommend it. It has a nice, smooth, silky feel once it`s dried, and it really does blend. My skin tends to get oily, but using this never made me break out [even though it`s only been twice]. It`s easy on the wallet too!
@e_e@xanga - that boutique closed down awhile ago :(
@prettyboy78@xanga - how would u know how many foundations i've tried? lol.. its rude of u to assume that i havent. and i never said anything about the cheapness of drug store brands.. so.. i dont know why you are being so defensive..
@TheRealRainbowBrite@xanga - @Lizzie_Bordenx@xanga - i just bought the studio sculpt like 2 days ago.. and i like it =] i also bought the Fix+.. so im really happy with my purchase.. beacuse it feels a lot like the shu uemura brand w/ just a little bit more coverage. thanks!! :)
@AngelStarr@xanga - @AngelStarr@xanga - I'm glad you liked it. I'll have to try the Fix+
I hadn't tried it yet but have heard good things about it.
my daily foundation is Shu Uemura
but you can also try lancome , I 've heard some of my friend 's review , it 's pretty good.
umm, hate to say this, but go without it. just for a while, try going without make-up, see what you think
