Men, Give Your Lady A Compliment!
Replayed a thousand times, in a thousand places, with a thousand men. Maybe a date. Maybe a wife picking her husband up from an airport. Maybe just for the "hi, honey, I'm home" moment.
She shows up. Beautiful. She's taken the extra time to find a nice outfit, put a little makeup on, and look good for her man.
He shows up. Says hi. Gets in the car. Or sits down and reads the paper. Or starts talking about the weather, dinner, work, or their plans for the evening.
And...he missed it. A glimpse of beauty, perfectly accented. The chance to give his woman a compliment.
Gentlemen, has this ever happened to you? Ladies, how often does your significant other compliment you? Is that enough?

honestly i am not one for compliments, but i don't mind it every once in a while. he sweet-talks me in other languages. it's pretty nice. a little cliché i guess, but lovable nevertheless
my boyfriend compliments me sometimes, not often. which makes the compliment (when he says so) even more meaningful :)
he notices what i wear but he doesnt say much?
My bf is always complimenting me, sometimes i have to tell him to cut back because he does it a little excessively! He says he can't help it. It's a little cheesy but it's cute!
I also really like how a guy wrote this. at least you realize it (:
I only receive compliments right after I compliment him.
@nbdyzangel@xanga - amen!
@madishka@xanga - amen to that too :)
It hurts a LOT when you try really hard to look good for your guy and he doesn't even try to appreciate it. Like, for my birthday I went out and bought this ridiculously expensive dress because I knew I looked hot, I got my hair and make-up done, and wore killer heels. Not one word.
He's my ex now, so it's times like those when I think back and remember how poignant the hurt was and literally classify that as evidence of what an ass he was. On the other hand, he sort of took care of me and drove me home when I got super trashed later in the night, so I justified to myself that he's an "actions speak louder than words" guy.
Nice post, Steven. : )
My guy compliments me often -- never too much, never too little. It's hard for me to believe him when he says I look beautiful first thing in the morning (when I think I certainly don't look or feel beautiful.. haha). But he's not one to be untruthful. And he divides his compliments evenly between physical and mental... And yes, I compliment him too, as he always amazes me. : )
My ex boyfriend never once complimented me. & thats exactly why hes an EX boyfriend =]
I broke up with my ex of two years because he never gave me compliments, I didn't feel loved or attractive or needed or wanted and I hated it - didnt even say I love you anymore (until i broke up with him and he 'realised')
Now the boy I'm seeing gives me a compliment every 5 minutes and I love it!!!!!
He's a keeper.
