Men, Give Your Lady A Compliment!
Replayed a thousand times, in a thousand places, with a thousand men. Maybe a date. Maybe a wife picking her husband up from an airport. Maybe just for the "hi, honey, I'm home" moment.
She shows up. Beautiful. She's taken the extra time to find a nice outfit, put a little makeup on, and look good for her man.
He shows up. Says hi. Gets in the car. Or sits down and reads the paper. Or starts talking about the weather, dinner, work, or their plans for the evening.
And...he missed it. A glimpse of beauty, perfectly accented. The chance to give his woman a compliment.
Gentlemen, has this ever happened to you? Ladies, how often does your significant other compliment you? Is that enough?

I'm surprised. When I first saw this, I thought a woman wrote it. But if there are guys that support the whole "chivalry" business, then kudos to you guys! It's not bad to give your man a compliment once in a while too, ladies.
My boyfriend compliments me CONSTANTLY, at least twice per day, and even when I am really sick (like right now) he takes the time to tell me I am beautiful.
well dont be cheesy and repetitive.
My boyfriend is really good at compliments. He only says them when he means it, and they're thoughtful & sweet. He used to give out compliments all the time, but I told him it was too much. He's better now <3.
My ex knew that I didn't like getting compliments ALL THE TIME, so he did it occasionally and only when he meant it. He called me beautiful even on the worst of days & when I as sick as I possibly could be.
It's always nice to hear a compliment, especially when you tried very hard to look a little extra special today. Sometimes, "you look nice," doesn't cut it. A little more thoughtful responses are what we're looking for. But, my boyfriend is pretty good w/ that for the most part, so I can't complain.
True, I would feel like it was a waste of time getting all ready for him and to find out that he didn't bother to at least noticed it.
I always give people compliments because it really does give someone a good feeling and makes them feel appreciated or cared. It can also make someone's day much better!
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - I wrote this from the perspective of 'been there, done that.' Married 8 years this week, I've missed my wife dressing up/looking her best for me several times.
And don't say: "You look nice today." That's something you say to your mom. I don't think it's chivalry to at least compliment someones gf every once in a while.
Well my SO compliments me pretty often. And every now and then he does something special and romantic for me just so that I would feel appreciated.
Maybe a couple times a week. :)
I try not to get obsessive and wanting to hear it, cause more often than not I am like that. Sad, really. But I will take any compliment, cause I know when he does do it, he means it 110%. Everything in moderation, I say.

And to answer your question - my beau doesn't compliment me enough... He has done it before, for sure, but not as often as I'd like... But I'm not upset about that. I know he thinks I'm beautiful despite not saying it frequently! 
Guys almost always never notice. Once they do it's like "FINALLY! >.>" .....
hmmm... because of hectic schedules and problems, some men often forget to give his partner a compliment..and vise versa. think once in awhile, you should stop..take a break..and see the beauty in front of you..and admire it..
i'll keep this in mind...
In the four years I have been with my boyfriend I have never gotten one compliment from him except for literally the six or seven times I have asked him if I looked nice (which I think doesn't count, because it's not like he's going to say "you look like crap").
I haven't learned to just let it slide. What can you do? Hey, maybe he really doesn't think I look all that great and he's the one letting it slide.
He doesn't compliment me with words....
but with looks and gestures and stuff....*blushes*

My boyfriend compliments me when he kows I took the time to look a little extra nice or when I look absolutely horrific. I'm guessing he does it to make me feel better, lol, and it kind of does. It's sweet.

I don't have a bf, so I never get compliments. the only compliments I get from guys are on my art. though it'd be nice to get a random "you look great" compliment from some random guy for a change XD

my boyfriend hardly ever compliments me, usually only after i've given him one.
my bf compliments me sometimes..but i complment him more then he does actually but not too overated or anything..i think its ver nice what ur doin and u should compliment ur wife and let her know that u cherish her like in the most intimate moments like in morning wen she wakes up and just tell her how beautiful she is..thats always sweet
