DIY: Knitted Bow Head Band
I've mentioned being addicted to The City. One particular night, inspiration hit me. I remember falling in lust with Whitney's knitted head band, and decided to cut up one of my hats (shown above) to try and do a DIY knock-off.

It has layered bows instead of the flower.. I'm very happy with the turnout. Some people even asked me where I got it, and that felt pretty cool.

I used the top portion of the beanie to create the bigger bow. I cut up the middle portions (sort of like a pie) and sewed the middle to create the ruching.

I then unstitched the smaller bow and put it on the new bigger ribbon before I attached it to the head band.
The best thing about it is I know I won't encounter anyone on the streets of Manhattan wearing the exact same head band!

How do you feel about headbands? Do you wear them in the warmer months or in the winter? Would you give this project a try?

its so cute! i love headbands, and i like to wear bows on top of my head. i have one that loos like bunny ears and it's pretty cute :)

Very inventive. I don't think it'll work for everyone, though. There needs to be a certain face shape, a certain hair length, a certain bow color...but the idea is really cute. =]
