The following are must have items for any man's wardrobe. Gentlemen, please ensure that you follow suit:
1. Fitted Leather Jacket. Because it's somehow at the same time both retro James Dean and punk bad ass.
2. Sunglasses. Aviator or Ray Ban look timeless and right on almost any man. Instant cool and chic.
3. Fitted Tee Shirt. Because as is traditional with men's style, simplicity at times is king.
4. Cool Sneakers. A pair of great sneakers is a must for every man, as every man I know keeps sneakers around. These should be an extension of your personality and thus add a bit of panache to any outfit.
5. Unique Wild Card. Everyone should have a unique piece in their wardrobe that they love. This could be kitsch, vintage, hand me down from your brother, etc. This piece assists in making your wardrobe your own!
Have I missed any must have items? What's your favorite look from the picture above? What's your favorite male article of clothing in general?

...and a practical, classic slingbag!
i actually hate all those looks..
I guess if I have to pick I would say the guy in the middle is closest to me, except he's nothing like me. The two guys to the right of him have really tight pants. I haven't seen any guys where pants like that. What's up with that bow tie? The guy to the center mans immediate left just looks plain goofy.
The guy to the far left looks completely gay, sort of the like the guys on the right. The only one with any redeeming qualities at all is the dude in the middle. This is a horrible example of male style. If this is where things are going I'm going to start dressing in drag.
wow, my boyfriend has all! haha
I feel comfortable giving a resounding NO to all of those looks except the suits. (but i can't tell whether that's a real tie with the dark suit or if it's a suit shirt...which is abhorrent.)
I like my aviators. I own a pair, but a fitted leather jacket is downright pretentious. Wearing a bowtie in this day and age ought to get you slapped, and skinny jeans scream "look at my PE-N1S" just as much as quadruple b00b screams "look at my cleav@ge". (I don't even wanna touch the idea of wearing pastel lime green skinny pants!) I own one cardigan, but it is decidedly striped and relatively passive. Fashionable under any circumstances. And if you ask me to wear a plastic yellow Divo hat like the guy in the red shorts, I'll bury you under the flower garden. Fitted tee shirts are too expensive and they're meant for models, and I'm planning to replace my cripped out NB 410s. That's my answer to this fashion advice. Just say no to 50% of it!
yeah, but what about the plumper guys like me? we can't wear anything form fitting, which is 90% of what those men are wearing.
my hubby is too old and too overweight for any of those looks. He would look horrible in anything too fitted. However, the list of things he does need is too long. He has no fashion sense and often looks like a homeless person.
I'm not feeling any of the samples.
Must Have Items: Mens' Edition
1. A bar of soap
2. Clean underwear
Are the two on the right women?
I don't think any of those are must haves.
My list would be:
1. Nice fitting suit (custom tailored is even better)
2. Casual everyday jeans with the cut of your choice
3. A fresh watch. Take your pick from a G-shock to a Folex--they add to your outfit and better yet, tell you what time it is.
4. This is more or less fashion related, but a complimentary cologne.
5. A white tee. You can either go with a fitted one for those with muscular physiques or a little baggy for those hip hop heads. The white tee is always fresh.
i can't pull that off.
That picture's just... no...
I really agreed with the women's edition, but i totally disagree with this one.
Damn, I have it all but the cool sneakers... I don't dress like any one of those models up there, but then again, I don't think most guys do anyway =P
@Random_Goldfish@xanga - Lol agreed!
@abcxunt@xanga - I personally am not a big fan of any of those either. The first one's a bit emo. The second one is a bit too wanna be Miami. The color on the third one makes me think of Miami Vice. And the last two with the skinny pants...just wrong. Bad, bad 80's.
the first three won't be needed in my bf's wardrobe...he's not exactly male model sized hahaha. but he loves his perfect white sneakers and his random wild card item.
To Lovelyish: I think you guys picked the queerest looking group of models available yes?
I bought a leather jacket once, but it was because I had a motorcycle and needed a riding jacket. It was too hot.
i saw in asia countries, most of men style are one in very left, the one in the middle and last very right...is this a popular trend nowadays in every country?
LOL seriously. that picture. second guy to the left and guy on the far right- WTF HAHAHA
wow. i love visual aid.
but anyway. i disagree with the list, except for maybe the t shirt. the other items on your list just ain't everyone's cup of tea and aren't really classic, anyone-can-pull-off type of piece. i'm not sure that every guy aspires to look "retro" and *scoff* "bad-ass". it seems more like a personal preference list of items, and not merely essentials.
i mean- you didn't even include a good pair of jeans on your list! really? come on now.
@abcxunt totally AGREE!
ugh (barf) ... especially the fag-80's skinny jeans.
the leather jacket on #4, and the pants on #1 are it, no more.
Hmm. A lot of guys have none of these things and there is still somethin' about 'em. I'm just not sure. Though I definitely think a guy in a leather jacket is hottttttttttt.
Well, actually, let me correct myself. A guy in a leather jack is USUALLY hotttt. That's a godawful picture of one, though. Haha. Pretty much all those pictures are a horrible representation. I'd never talk to anyone that looked like any of them, most likely. Ha.

EECK! >_<
If anything the first one is somewhat decent without that see-through thingy.
