3 Brilliant Inventions for the Modern Ladies
Would the world look any different without:
1. Contact Lenses
2. Hair Straighteners
3. Cosmetics?
Think of the ladies without perfect eyesight, born with unruly hair and those not blessed with a clear complexion / prominent features.
#3 (cosmetics) is practically my staple food, and I will most likely survive without #2 (a hair straightener). I'm fortunate because I'm gifted with perfect eyesight, so #1 is irrelevant to me, although once in a while I love coloured contacts for a change.

What do you think is the most important modern invention for women? Which of these can't you live without? Which of these do you find unneccessary?

I use none of those things.
Hell yes it would Lol. I do all three. HAHAA
I dont need hair straightener.....I cover my hair
I dont need contacts....I have good vision
i'm half blind.. need my contacts. don't use the other two.
i love it all <3
^^^ why are the above girls even posting on lovelyish? ...healthkicker would make you happier! you can discuss your perfect eyesight/ perfect skin techniques there
I use all three, every single day.
i don't use contacts but i do love the other two. as part of #3, i'd say i can't live without my lip balm! i love keeping my lips moisturized.
i use #2 n #3 .......not #1.......
but i m not dependant on these things i like myself as it is.....
I use all three!
I use all three!
I think women would die w/o the straightener. I think the straightener is the most important out of all of this. They could use glasses as a substitution. And cosmetics? Just go natural, you won't die. But you might not look as stunning...
I like my Chanel glasses!! i don't want to wear lenses.
I never use Hair Straighteners for an obvious reason...
BUT i love cosmetics! I have a lot of products... that I never use loool
Love all three <3
Most important modern invention for women: Bras.
1 and 3. sometimes ill use 2...but my hairs already straight.
I don't need #1 [thank you God!!], and I choose not to use #2. #3 is for special occaisions.
My favorite invention honestly is toilet paper. Maybe it isn't just for women but still I think it is very important!!
Contacts most definitely.
As much as I love my glasses, contacts are more comfortable and I can actually use my peripheral vision.I don't like to damage my hair by burning it into submissions so it just kinda generally goes where it wants to.
And usually in the mornings, I'm too lazy to use cosmetics.
I can't live without my hair straightener. My hair is soo frizzy. And I've always loved make up! Its great to correct the red spots and acne scars, but I think its a lot of fun too!
I think chapstick is absolutely necessary and something I can't live without!
@amissong@xanga - That's what I was thinking. I don't get why some people bother to post.
I definitely prefer contacts over glasses, and a straightener is nice when I want to try something different, but cosmetics... are a MUST. Dark circles, uneven skin, stubby eyelashes... you can get cute glasses and rock frizzy hair every day all day long, but the only way to rock less-than-awesome skin is to cover it.
For me, contacts are the most unnecessary because I only wear my glasses. I tried contacts and broke down crying at the optician because I couldn't put them in. Eventually, I'll try again, but now, my glasses work fine :]
Most important.... it's so a tie between makeup and a straightener. Probably makeup is more important, though I despise my hair.
i also prefer contacts over glasses. but my hubby likes me in glasses, so i alternate but usually wear the contacts cause i'm more comfortable in them.
my hair is thick, fine, and very straight. i couldn't live without mousse!
i will occasionally go out of the house without makeup. but pretty much only at night, or only if i'm going through someone's drive through or like, just to the gas station or something.
so i definitely couldn't live without 1 and 3. and a big DITTO to the person who said BRAS!
other major important inventions include: curling irons, hair dryers, moisturizer, laser hair removal (the only cosmetic surgery i would ever consider having done) and....i know there are more....
@laurenmaureen@xanga - me too! the first time i tried contacts was in the eighth grade and i sat there for over an hour trying to put them in before i finally got it. outside in the parking lot i was so frustrated that i burst into tears as me and mom walked to our car. i didn't put them in again for years. when i was 20 i tried contacts again and just stuck with it until i got used to them. now i love them and don't even feel them when i have them in (unless my eyes get too dry.) i definitely understand the difficulties and frustrations of them though.
@mrssprout@xanga - yeah that's how old i was! i'll probably get them before my senior prom or whatever. it would be nice to see my prom without having to wear my glasses hahaha
I use all three...
I can't live without victorias secret lipgloss...amazing
