  • Foundation for Girls that Don't Like to Wear Foundation

I don't usually wear foundation because I always found it too heavy. Whenever I wore it before it would give me a "pancake" effect, like I had way too much makeup on.

But recently I found myself needing more coverage than compact powder could provide. So I went on a search for light foundation and found an awesome one in Estee Lauder's Nutritious Vita-Mineral Foundation

This foundation is light and easy to apply, almost like a tinted moisturizer. I was really worried that it wouldn't match my skin, but I found that it blended really well and with a dusting of my usual powder on top, it made my skin look smooth and nearly flawless.

I really hate when foundation covers up natural imperfections like moles, but the Vita-Mineral foundation just covers up my blemishes and the redness in my cheeks. I also love that it's oil free and doesn't make my face feel cakey.

I highly recommend Vita-Mineral foundation if you're looking for a light-weight foundation that is easy to apply and does a good job of giving you natural, smooth coverage.

What foundation do you use? Have a light coverage foundation you would recommend?

I like to use Covergirls' Clean Makeup foundation, it has no fragrance, so it doesn't irritate my skin :)

Right now I'm using Cover Girl True Blend, I found it on sale, and I like to mix it with a drop of moisturizer before putting it on. Seems to be working for me. Oh and I hate when makeup covers up my mole, I take a wet q-tip and wipe it off lol.

I've never been big on department store brands since I could never find my shade, and they tended to break me out.

I use and really love Everyday Minerals, and would recommend their matte formula, though intensive gives the best coverage. I use a mix of both when I apply foundation.

I use Shu Uemura Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation.. its also a really great light weight foundation and it contains "depsea water" which is this mineral water pumped from the ocean depths near japan - that supposedly cures eczema.. but all i kno is that its light and doesn't feel heavy and it moisturizes the skin. its $42.

I like Rimmel's foundations too. They are luminous & not cakey...I wear the 16 hour one, it lasts me all day!

I use Covergirl but in very small amounts.  I am a guy, so I do not wear much makeup in the first place.  But what I do wear I really like.  Thanks for the tip.

I don't like foundation either but I think I'd much rather try BB cream which kind of has the qualities of foundation.

Do  you have any animal test-free options for a good foundation to wear?

  • BaiRain@xanga

I have learned that by using a moisturizer FIRST, the foundation will go on much smoother, thus eliminating that 'heavy' feeling.

I USE MAYBELLINE'S DREAM MATTE MOUSSE FOUNDATION IN COCOA ITS VERY HARD TO FIND A FOUNDATION THAT MATCHES DARKER SKIN LIKE MINE BUT THIS REALLY WORKS FOR ME...DOES THIS BRAND HAVE DARK SHADES? I WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW AND WHERE CAN I FIND IT?

I rarely put on makeup, but I use Yumei Moisture Liquid Foundation. It's not heavy at all, and it blends in well with my skin tone. Yumei is a Japanese brand, and I think it suits Asian skin tones quite well. You can find more of their products here:

    Mac Mineralize Satin Finish.

But, due to the hot weather now, my skin tone has changed and I need a new shade.

I like the one by L'oreal, the double pump one, that you can personalise your shade? Can't remember the name at this moment, but my sister brought home some from the US and it's awesome!

i usually use bare escentuals bare minerals foundation. it's really light and it has that barely there effect. recently, i went out and bought a liquid foundation for those days i just dont want tospend so much time putting on makeup.. i got maybelline's liquid dream mousse. i think its like the dream mousse matte, but in a liquid form.. lol it comes with a pump too. it's lightweight yet it gives me coverage. at the end of the day, no oiliness on my t-zone (i have combination skin and by mid day, the oil starts coming).. im in love with this foundation.

I use some kinda' generic version of the Bare Minerals type stuff, because I can't really afford the good stuff. It works really well, though, and plus, I think it's a lot better for my skin than all the thick, oily stuff. Again, I don't really have the money to buy stuff and try it out and then not like it, but I'm sure there is a lot of good stuff out there. You just have to find what feels right and looks right and generally works for you and your skin type.

So, is it perfumed?  Estee Lauder tends to have some perfumy smells to it and i dont like it.  Looks like a neat product though.

  • slim_n_sxy@xanga

I use Vichy foundation, which is specifically made for skin with imperfections. It's light and glides on soo smoothly, and I can't even feel it on my skin, and no cakey effect whatsoever. It's perfect.
