Big Girls Can't Wear Skinny Jeans?

So I'm a bigger girl who loves fashion, and I have a question. I have a couple of pairs of high boots that I adore, but I've heard that big girls can't wear skinny jeans or leggings.
Is this true? If it is, then what's the best way for a big girl to rock some high boots?
I normally wear boot cut jeans beause I like the way they look. You just can tuck them into boots, and I was thinking of getting a pair just to wear with my boots. What else can I wear with my boots?

who said curvy girls can't wear skinny's?...you better rock a pair to go with those gorgeous boots...it's more on how you carry yourself and how you wear them...as long as you don't have anything hanging out or exposing ass and titty's...your good mama. work that shit.lol
it all depends in my opinion.
I've seen poor big girls try and dress like small petite girls and it's just so unflattering for them that I feel sorry!
Issues that often arise when bigger girls wear skinny jeans are muffin top. I don't know if you know what that is but I've seen some bad cases.
Tights I think are for every body type, with a nice flowy dress and some boots would look killer!
Skinny jeans are hardly flattering on anyone. Not even girls with The Gap.
=/
as long as you feel beautiful inside them, you'll irradiate it.
just get skinny jeans your size, and everything should look okay.who in the world told you that? as long as you're wearing the right size ... meaning you didn't squeeze yourself into something causing you to have camel toe and any other unflattering things ... there is no reason why you cannot rock your boots. i am not skinny and l i wear is skinny jeans and tights. my husband loves the way i look in them and will not stop staring at my behind. the sexier the boots the better. he always tells me he doesn't understand why some super skinny girls wear skinny jeans because it makes them look thinner instead of "more womanly" ... but then again ... my husband is of the other variety.
I've seen some larger girls pull off skinny jeans but to be honest, i haven't seen any wear leggings and manage to pull off the look. Jeans give you more shape and support. So i would say that you probably are fine wearing your boots with jeans.
However you could try wearing your boots with a nice a line skirt that comes to about your knees. Or wear your leggings with a dress as your top.
I'm sure you will look fabulous =D
@BABI_BRUNETTE_7@xanga - AMEN! I am curvy and own a pair of skinny jeans. Girl if you feel hot, you look hot, that's all the matters!
make sure you wear a dark color if you try it out. definitely go with jeans and not leggings
yes bigger girls can rock skinny jeans. i have some extra weight myself and one of my favorite looks is skinny jeans with shin or knee high boots. all you have to do is find a pair that fits and is flattering on your things or hips, if those are problem areas for you.
It depends.... I don't think they're the most flattering on bigger girls. I'm a size 8 UK/4 US and they don't flatter me though, so it's all about your own body. If you feel great wearing them, and they look good, go wild and work it! Ha ha. If not, skirts that come just above the knee look fabulous with long boots, or if you want jeans get some well tailored straight leg ones - that's what I wear with my boots. =]
wow your on some serious backhold if you dont wear those skinny jeans.im big and i wear them ALL the time, shows off my ass plus i love the way my legs look in them,..the REALLY skinny girls, who dont have thighs touching,i think they shouldnt wear it cause it looks as if two poles are covered with a peice of cloth!...
im not very proud of being big but i have never thought that can hold me back from wearing skiny jeans.infact i HATE boot cuts.(i never wear skirts or shots cause they make my calves look like stumps)
@IXOYE_AD@xanga - you see...that confident is blooming...i'm loving that. now put some of that on your outfit and your good to go
with love

I'm a curvy girl and I have four pair of skinny jeans that look great on me. Like everyone else has said, just get them in your size. Also, don't get them in loud colors. I noticed that they exaggerated my hips when I wore green ones. I don't know if it'll be the same case for you, just try them on.
Leggings, I've never really tried them on. I think it will work if you get them in your size once more, and if you wore a long shirt with it. Possibly longer then the usual. Just make sure they cover enough.
You can always wear skirts and dresses with your boots.
Much luck.
As a bigger girl myself, I say rock the skinny jeans!
I usually pair them with a long shirt or long cardigan to hide anything unflattering about the top, but they have a wonderfully slimming and lengthening effect on my legs.
Unfortunately, I typically don't rock the legging look because I have trouble finding ones that fit comfortably. The worst faux pas with big girls in leggings (heck, i've seen this on skinny girls too) is that sometimes, the right size for your calf and stomach is too small for your hips and thighs, so the thin fabric gets stretched and distorted on your upper legs. This is easily hidden by a knee-length skirt, but when combined with a miniskirt is a fashion disaster!
they can,but it's not very flattering for their figures.
there called SKINNY jeans for a reason.
With boots the skinny jeans should be fine. What you are hearing is meant for when you wear flats or just heels with the skinny jeans. The hips jut out and taper to the ankle, which some people think doesn't look good. Bigger girls usually look better with a straight leg that falls at the widest part of the hip [bootlegs usually do this] - it's slimming and looks great. But, if you like the way you look - I know for a Fact that a lot of guys Prefer bigger girls - then wear what you want, as the 'rules' are for 'showing off your best features' and 'hiding your less than spectacular features.' It's all about perception, which is different for everyone. Ya dig? ;)
I think you can wear skinny jeans as long as theyre your size and not too tight. Or, try a medium length skirt with the boots, like what she's wearing in this picture http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2386/1754062308_7afcb3086b.jpg
well, fuck. i don't care if i'm not "supposed" to wear skinny jeans because i'm not skinny. i love my skinny jeans. they make them in larger sizes. my favorite pair came from old navy, but i've seen places like torrid carry them, too (sizes 12-26 depending on your size.)
if you don't like the way you look or feel in them then don't wear them. if you are comfortable in them and like the way you look- go for it. that's how i judge my clothing. not on what other people think i should wear, but on how i feel. good luck :)
They can but very few look good in them.
@outspoken_nessa@xanga - HAHA!
u CAN wear skinny jeans, whether or not you will look good on them is debatable
It doesn't matter what people say. Do what you want and dress how you want. Just get a size that fits your body, and I think dark colors would look good. I personally think some people can't pull off the leggings look. But they're majorly cute with babydoll tops and short dresses.
@outspoken_nessa@xanga - HAH, please. People can wear them. Whether they look great or not . . . Whatever.
Oh, and it's "they're".
@lastlyfirst@xanga - Totally agree.
lol you obviously dont live in jamaica queens and see who exactly wears those skinny legs
You CAN do whatever the hell you want for the sake of it or to prove a point or whatever, but that doesn't mean it'll look good.
The reason it doesn't is because from an aesthetic point of view, skinny jeans only emphasize positively one trait, which is skinny legs. They bring out the negative in anything else. Big thighs (if you're not proud of them)? Gut? Love handles? Thick calves? Awkwardly shaped butt? Short legs? Thanks, skinny jeans, for making all these things twice as noticeable.
So like i said, do what you want and be as indignant as you want about people telling you that big girls can't wear them, but you really can't deny that that's hard to refute. They're a tough style to pull off.
Big girls CAN wear skinny jeans. I saw it in a magazine. lol.
I feel empowered to get myself a pair of skinny jeans now.
